Correct way of Baptism

1. Immersed into water
2. Sprinkled by water
3. Pouring water over the head

Is this just ritual?
What matters is your confession of Faith in the public.
Did the Bible specify the method?
Should we be immersed as Jesus did in the Jordan river?

Traditionally it has been by full immersion in water. However, the Didache records that baptisms should be performed in running water, preferably cold, but if that is not available then pouring water three times over the head is acceptable.

If you look to the accounts of people receiving the Holy Spirit in the new testament you'll see that the Apostles and those gathered with them on the day of Pentecost received the initial outpouring of the Holy Spirit just as Jesus promised. But they had previously been baptized. At Acts 10:44-48 there is an account of some who received the Holy spirit in the presence of the Apostles prior to receiving water baptism. They were then baptized in water.

In all other cases -just is the case today- a person receives the Holy Spirit after water baptism through the laying on of hands, see the account of the Samaritans at Acts 8, then St. Paul himself at Acts 9:17-18.

We must be baptized if we are healthy to do so, anyway, it is Faith in Christ that saves us, not the baptism itself.

Still, some will tell you otherwise.

And John 1:31 says that water BAPTISM was given to Israel ?

It does not say it was given to GENTILES , or do you have a verse that says , given to Gentiles ??

Jesus is our example- how was He baptized?

“Jesus … was baptized by John in the Jordan. And immediately, coming up from the water ...Mark 1:9-10

Jesus was baptized by immersion. It represents a new walk or commitment to Christ. No longer a slave to sin, but a servant of Christ.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection, 6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be [a]done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

Jesus was the example for EVERYONE. This false teaching He was only the example for the Jews, is not going to serve one well.

We don't fulfill rightlessness, Jesus does through our faith in Him.

Eph 4:5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism; 6 one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in [a]you all.

Jesus is the WAY and He led by example, our example to follow. 1 John 2:6 1 Peter 2:21-22

AND John 1:31 says that he manifested WATER BAPTISIM to Israel and Acts 1:5 that John indeed BAPTIZED // HUDOR but that you ( WHO is John speaking to ) ISRAEL .

But you will be BAPTIZED // BAPTIZIO , with Holy Spirit not many of these days after .

Is it just literal or does it represent God's people- not based on nationality, Rom 9:6-7 those with faith are grafted in, not Jew or Greek, but just one people, one God and one baptism, not many Gal 3:26-28 Eph 4:5. Jesus is our example to follow 1 John 2:6 1 Peter 2:21-22 but if one wishes to follow someone else as their example, we have free will.

Here is just one verse in Jer 31:3 that Christ sys , I have LOVED you with EVERLASTING LOVE , that is who Israel is !!

Israel is just a name God gave to identify God's people. It is both metaphorical and literal. Literal Israel rejected Jesus, so now its Spiritual Israel. Why God's New Covenant Promise is still with Israel, but all, even Jews need to be grafted in through faith. We are however, getting way off topic.

Jer 1:5 says , Before I formed you in the WOMB , I knew you , and that is Israel .

And Eph 1:4 says , that the BODY OF CHRIST was CHOSEN , BEFORE // PRO the Foundation of the world !!
