Contemplating/Trying to understand

Frankly, in my opinion, the first child is the worst. No-one is ever prepared for their first. Nothing is ever so unknown or scarey again - except perhaps being faced with special needs but as this is a challenge I haven't faced I really can't comment.

Having a gaggle is really not much more work than having just one, especially as they get older & the training you've instilled earlier enables them to help out more.

Our house was a magnet for every child in the area; we already owned 1/2 the soccer team, 1/2 the cricket team & the space for a quick game or two!

I found having just one child the hardest 4 years. Even twins was easier than keeping one child happy & occupied. More was purely & simply a huge blessing. Mind you they didn't fight all that much either. I find fighting hard.

For me, having 2 was harder than any other number. Then we had #3, who was born with birth defects and died when she was 4.5 months old (from surgical complications). After that, DH and I were Totally open to however many (if any) that G-d wanted us to have. He blessed us with 6 more healthy babies, and provided for each one of them. We are honestly better off financially Now, with this large family, then we were back when we only had 2. And DH doesn't really make that much more money than he did back then... It's totally G-d.

*I* freak out occasionally about things (especially financial things). But G-d comes through every time. Now it looks like our oldest is about to get engaged... and the thought of paying for a wedding is Completely overwhelming me, but DH keeps telling me to just wait and see~ G-d will work it out. He's right~ I just need to chill. lol

Keep in mind that quiverful doesnt necessarily mean having 6 or 8 or 10 children. Quiverful means being open to what God has for you. I am quiverful, have never used any type of birth control, am 37 and pregnant with #3 right now! Whether this is the last one or God has 1 or 2 more planned for me, i have no idea! Depending on how old you are when you marry, when your menopause starts and how fertile you are...you could end up with anywhere from 0-15 kids while quiverful. I have a cousin that is quiverful and she is pregnant with #3. So far all her kids are 2 1/2 to 3 yrs apart. She breastfeeds and for her that keeps her from getting pregnant..for her thats Gods plan. She is now 30, so if God continues giving her more about every 3 yrs she MIGHT end up with up to 5 more ..or maybe not.

I am new to the idea of QF also..it is scary at first, but my heart kept telling me it was the right thing to do. I know that everything needed will be provided. It is scary though..the thought some days are terrifying, but I know it is the right thing to do.

I am somewhat new to quiverfull also, husband and I just came to an agreement about it in November. And I might already be pregnant! My youngest baby is only 6 1/2 months old. This is very scary, but I do trust God completely and maybe if I am preg my dear sweet husband will finally get his son! I'll let you all know what happens.
