I grew up, a long, long, long time ago, in a heavily Catholic city. Gotta admit, I loved the architecture on some of those old cathedrals.
But, many, many, many years later, here I am attending a Baptist church in the deep south, believing in Baptist principals, in principle.
One thing that was never explained to me fully, was why Baptists believe in only the authority of the local church. What scriptures are used to justify this? I personally don't care whether it's one way or the other, as I believe in the visible and invisible church both working towards God's purpose, but just wondered why it is such.
Thanks!
