closer to God

What kind of things does your church do to help you deepen your Christian spirituality?  What does it do that helps you grow closer to God that you would like to share?  This can be something very large or very small that helps you be closer to the creator.  Nothing is insignificant if it helps you get closer to God so it is good to share it with all so all can be edified. 

***Note this is not a debate thread  It is a fellowship one. ****

You can question another's post if it is just a path to gain more information as to what they do.  However you can't post angainst what they do.  This is not a thread to say "Why Cathoilics are wrong."  Or "Why fundamentalists have a wrong hermeneutic." or anything of that nature.  It is a thread in which different parts of the body of Christ can come together and share how they deepen their mutual experience and thus give ideas and encouragement to others in the faith. 

 

I am going to start things out with a small one.  I go to church on Saturday night instead of Sunday morning.  I am a night person and it is indeed a blessing to have church at night.  I think it helps me be awake and learn more from service and bible fellowship class. Thus I grow closer to Him because I learn more about Hm and I am awake for the fellowship with the family of God.
