I went on Clomid (Clomiphine) to concieve our second daughter (my first daughter was conceived "naturally" by means of being a total and utter surprise when we were not even trying).

We were very blessed by the fact I was able to conceive on the first month I used Clomid. I remember the hot flashes-they went away once I finished the Clomid. I also recall being moody, more or less like bad PMS, but again, only while I was actually taking it. The only other side effect I had, was the overwhelming urge to quit in the middle of the actual "act" of making a baby. It was so bad I actually felt like I wanted to slap him during our intimate time. As funny as it sounds...at the time it was almost alarming. But that too, went away once I had finished the cycle of Clomid.

All that being said...I have an appointment next month with my Dr. to discuss once again taking Clomid to conceive another child. There wasn't any side effect I encountered last time, that would make me not want to again from a purely side effect perspective.

I pray that everything goes smoothly for you, and that very soon you will be welcoming a new member into your family!

I took clomid to conceive my daughter now 2 and to concieve my son (i'm 20wks pg).
My daughter was conceived on the first cycle of 50mg clomid, but I'm still only half convinced the clomid actually did much.
This pregnancy it took 6 cycles at 100mg to concieve with the help of OPK's and BBT charting and Lots of Prayer.
I had mild side effects, I put on weight - about 5 kilos in the 6 months (which I lost in my first trimester due to morning sickness) and I was very moody and emotional, more than was usual for me during pms. I would get offended easily and start fights with dh (poor dh) before I realised what was going on!!
Saying that it was totally worth it, the side effects were mild and didn't last too long.
I hope the clomiphene treatment helps you and you have some good news soon!
