• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Climbing The Mountains Of Life

Life is full of struggles – fear-provoking mountains that attempt to block the passage of us achieving our hopes, joys, and God-driven dreams. Faulty perceptions - like:“Nothing good can come out of these circumstances”, “I am unlovable”, “No escape from my problems exist” - too many times fool our perseverance in believing that “this mountain cannot be climbed”, leading to tyranny in the form of despair. Amidst all this, freedom is still there to be grasped, because “anything is possible if a person believes” (Mark 9:23).

In Matthew 17:20, Jesus said “If you have faith as small as a mustard seed you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible”. Today, just like how Jesus back then challenged His disciples to have “mustard seed-sized faith”, He is now challenging us to have the same kind of faith during our times of need. Trust promises like Jeremiah 29:11-13, Romans 8:28,35-39, and 1 Corinthians 10:13 as you surrender your fears to Christ. Doing this results into the necessitated stable footing, and also the Vine’s (John 15) power to overcome, both needed by us to climb through rough mountainous terrain as we wait for God to deliver us through the trial.
