Absolutely. And these accusations? Meaningless....

Pelosi claiming she doesn't know reporting requirements. She may be telling the truth. Her husband does her investing for her. She's suddenly a free market economist when it comes to her personal life....but the voters think these people care about their social security, medicaid, or minimum wage.

The Dems have a big problem with SCOTUS that won't disappear soon. They want to do a lot of stuff that they can't....because it's illegal....and every time it's contested, they have to drop it before appeals get too high and a final ruling sets precedent. The farmer loans that excluded white farmers? They dropped that case. Biden tacked on "gender identity and expression" right next to "sexual orientation" on a certain amendment...yet they haven't really forced any states to follow this rule....because it's completely bogus. That sort of change has to be legislated and voted on....or interpreted as such by the SCOTUS. They can do neither. That's why Tennessee can ban transgender treatment until age 25 and be confident that the federal government won't come after them for a civil rights violation. That would get appealed to the SCOTUS.

They've made big promises to certain groups that want favorable discrimination and they know they can't deliver without a supermajority or a different SCOTUS.

He knows it's political.

There's no pressure. He sits for life. Unless there's a process for removal....where would the pressure come from?

If they knew about this for years....and you seem to understand they did....why bother now? Is the Hunter laptop case about to drop? I doubt it. Is this to distract from any number of embarrassing failures? Are they looking for new villains for their voters to unite in hatred of since the cases against Trump are falling short? Why now?

Until Scalia died Thomas never spoke in Court. He didn't write opinions. After all, what could he write?
"I accepted the advice of my fat cat friends when I discussed the case with them on a yachting adventure?"
It is Democrats introducing bills to prohibit individual stock ownership unless held in blind trusts--not Republicans. Perhaps you could let me know which Republicans support the measure?
You criticize Pelosi's husband's investments but think it's OK for Thomas' wife to have actively conspired and supported the insurrectionists?
Paul Pelosi isn't being called to testify for his role in a treasonous plot.
Thomas should have been impeached years ago. Perhaps the House hesitated do as not to appear racist, but since we now have Justice Jackson no one will say it's racist.
It is his lack of ethics, and the thirty year paper trail of biased votes favoring his oligarch buddies, that merits impeachment.

Absolutely disgusting. He's taking vacations? With a rich man? Doesn't he know he's not allowed friends or rides or uhhh...stuff?

Your opinion and sarcasm is noted.

And as you well know, it's not simply a matter of having a rich friend.

Like the money from China to Hunter?
What does Hunter have to do with anything?

Actually, if you were familiar with some of my postings, I've gone pretty hard on the Hunter Biden situation as well, so the "what about Hunter?" angle isn't really relevant to my posts on this subject as I've been pretty consistent on matters of financial corruption at the high levels of government.

I would like if Clarence Thomas got a fair shake and isn’t forced off of the Court for these minor infractions of ethics rules.
The law seems more important to me than customs.
He violated no law. . .and would not surprise me if that were the very point he is making; i.e., he is goverened by law, not by custom.

Good for him!

When one's long-held and often-stated convictions are contrary to yours, they are then "biased votes favoring oligarch buddies."
That oligarchs (whom are not illegal, and are citizens protected by the Constitution just as you are) would have the same convictions as his, not-with-standing.

Nuthin' new goin' on here. . .same ole incomprehension and unappreciation of Constitutional rights and protections.
Thank you, failed public education system, hi-jacked and made a political indoctrination system instead of a genuine education system.

If he won't resign perhaps he could be tempted by a lavish and extended no strings holiday with his old friend.
As much chance of that as his detractors being objective.

What was systematcially done to black farmers during those farm loans sounds like something they probably teach in CRT classes at law schools.

Until Scalia died Thomas never spoke in Court. He didn't write opinions.

Yeah he didn't write opinions. This is probably just a personal essay he wrote back in 93.

Since you don't know how this works perhaps you should stop embarrassing yourself. The guy has written more opinions worth reading than you have on this forum. He worked his way to the SCOTUS as the son of a farm hand who ran out on his mother and siblings. Amazing accomplishment for a black man in the 60s and 70s....given current tales of the racial heirarchy and white privilege. Of course, that didn't stop Democrats from trying to Kavanaugh him to stop his confirmation. You know that old move....the old "Brett Kavanaugh"?

After all, what could he write?

There's this long list of his opinions, majority or not, and it took about 2 seconds to find.

"I accepted the advice of my fat cat friends when I discussed the case with them on a yachting adventure?"
It is Democrats introducing bills to prohibit individual stock ownership unless held in blind trusts--not Republicans.

It's also Democrats not voting for them.

We actually know AOC solicited bribes. Her Met Gala ticket wasn't free.

Perhaps you could let me know which Republicans support the measure?

I don't know....I don't live in some fantasy land where these officials aren't corrupt. I've been telling people for years that they're robbing you.

If you only care when it's politically convenient....you don't care.

You criticize Pelosi's husband's investments

I know enough about the statistical probability of investing to say that it's literally impossible she hasn't been guilty of insider trading for years. You can email her this if you think it amounts to libel or slander. A consistent rate of return (the sort that averages out without wildly fluctuating year after year) involves either....

1. A fairly conservative strategy.
2. Extensive knowledge of a few markets.
3. A deep understanding of most markets and ability to understand trends or model consistent market conditions.
4. Genius.

I'm only putting #4 there because there's a hedge fund created by a group of nerds that simply does all their investing for them....they feed market data in daily to a complex set of algorithms designed to take human biases out of the equation and invest according to current data and future predictive models. They get about....60% returns year after year. They even beat old Warren Buffett.

Paul Pelosi....a guy more notable for his drinking and relative stupidity when dealing with police or lunatics....is a private investor who makes 90% on his investments on average. You know, by himself.

Either he has a crystal ball, wrote a thesis paper at MIT explaining that he's the smartest economist alive, or you know...."someone" is giving him inside information.

but think it's OK for Thomas' wife to have actively conspired and supported the insurrectionists?

Is this about Thomas or his wife or the fact that Democrats have to keep dropping these initiatives in court because they are illegal?

Paul Pelosi isn't being called to testify for his role in a treasonous plot.

Paul Pelosi isn't being called to court because he's married to a corrupt former politician. They don't compel spouses to testify against each other.

Thomas should have been impeached years ago.

It's never happened.

Instead of adopting a strategy of hypocritically supporting attacks on political opponents seen as impediments to the insane legislation the Democrats want...

Perhaps support common sense policies that are within the bounds of the law and tell lawmakers that you don't support them going after others while they're just as corrupt?

Perhaps the House hesitated do as not to appear racist, but since we now have Justice Jackson no one will say it's racist.

It's never happened. Dems have neither the political will nor ability. As for Jackson....her very appointment was racist. Democrats are the party of racial discrimination now, and denied any non-black women or men any chance. If she had even a modicum of integrity she would have withdrew her candidacy.

It is his lack of ethics, and the thirty year paper trail of biased votes favoring his oligarch buddies, that merits impeachment.

Keep dreaming. I suggest the dems look for some lawyers who aren't DEI hires if they want someone competent.

Well black farmers filed a discrimination lawsuit less than a couple of decades ago and won hundreds of millions if I remember correctly.

But yes, historic discrimination against black farmers is one of those things.

So glad I don't have to read Breitbart. I can just glance at your posts.

Jackson, in a head to head comparison with the other 8 judges, was the most qualified of all of them.

What matters is the Constitution.

Should corporations be considered "persons?" Citizens United. Heck, no. But for Thomas it was payback time.

Along with all the other anti-citizen pro-business decisions.

Excessive gun encouragement...is it because they want footsoldiers when they need that final push to overthrow the democracy they're dismantling?
