What does any of that have to do with anything??
It is talking about salvation (Which has everything to do with what we are talking).
If you cannot be bothered to answer any of the verses I bring forth, then there is no need to continue this discussion, my friend. For we are in a Bible discussion forum (Whereby we should be sticking to discussing the Bible).
The topic is "Christians" and sin.
When you talk about Christians and sin: Salvation is a part of that discussion.
Besides, if you were to look at the Original Post, you may notice that the Original Poster actually talks about salvation as being connected to the topic heading.
What I said was clearly explained in my previous posts. Please go back and read them, my friend.
Anyways, I am going to refrain from talking with you from now on.
Thanks for your posts Jason0047 we can read what you said
Romans 8 completely smashes your theory of believers losing their salvation, as does Romans 9 as does Romans 10 as do many other scriptures.I did not say Justification is Sanctification.
Justification is another way of saying of being "declared righteous" (As I am sure you will agree with).
Justification is Initial Salvation in coming to the Lord by repenting of your sins to the Lord.
Sanctification is Continued Salvation in walking with the Lord in His good ways so as to be made holy.
Glorification is the End of Salvation where God takes the believer home to be with Him.
Verse 14 says we have redemption thru his blood and the forgiveness of his sins.
How do you make sure that the blood is cleansing you of sin as a believer?
1 John 1:7 says,
"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin."
Also, Colossians 3 says this, too,
5 "Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
6 For which things' sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience:
7 In which you also once walked, when you lived in them."
(Colossians 3:5-7)
Did you catch that? We are told to mortify our members involving fornication, covetousness, idolatry, etc. (of which such things abide the Wrath of God). For if one is not obeying God they are a child of disobedience and the Wrath of God then abides on them. Verse 7 says we ONCE walked (PAST TENSE) in these types of sins when we lived in them. So sin is supposed to be something that is a part of your old life and not a part of your new life in Christ.
....
Well, first, you are going to have to elaborate a little more on Romans 9 and Romans 10. Second, Romans 8:30 is in context to verse 28 for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. How does someone know if they are called according to God's purpose? By hearing with the ears and seeing with the eyes and by understanding with their heart (Whereby God would then convert or regenerate them).Romans 8 completely smashes your theory of believers losing their salvation, as does Romans 9 as does Romans 10 as do many other scriptures.
Romans 8:30 New King James Version (NKJV)
30 Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
Is written past tense all the way to 'glorified'
Nowhere is this passage say or imply that it is talking about present sin that is not confessed and forsaken. That is something that you must impress upon the text that is not there.Hebrews 10
15 But the Holy Spirit also witnesses to us; for after He had said before,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, says the Lord: I will put My laws into their hearts, and in their minds I will write them,”
17 then He adds, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I will remember no more.”
18 Now where there is remission of these, there is no longer an offering for sin.
Now anyone who teaches otherwise, you have the scriptural evidence from the Holy Spirit, they are a false teacher.
AND Christians have had their sins remitted, their is no longer an offering for sin. So then they are no longer held accountable for a sinful nature, in truth that nature has been dealt with as they are New creations in Christ and the old man is dead, it has been crucified along with Christ.
That is correct. Christians can and do sin, but if they are genuine Christians they do not make sinning a deliberate practice. If they do, then they have not truly repented. And if they fall, then they confess their sin, repent, and grow in grace. To quote him exactly, he said: "Christians still sin but they don't ...plot it, plan it, strategise it..."
When you get saved you are joined to Christ and enter into God's family line and out of Adam's family line. You are then free from the condemnation of Adam's sin and this is your salvation. The only way you can loose salvation is for God to put you back into Adam's family line and that just isn't going to happen.
Blessings,
Alan
The goal is holiness (Which is a state of not sinning). For he that does righteousness is righteous (1 John 3:7). He that commits sin is of the devil (1 John 3:8). For one cannot sin also be considered holy. That would be a contradiction in terms. In fact, the will of God for our lives is Sanctification or holiness (1 Thessalonians 4:3). For it is written, "Be ye holy; for I am holy." (1 Peter 1:16). "Follow .... holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord." (Hebrews 12:14). Jesus said, to TWO people to: "go and sin no more." In fact, the man Jesus healed that he told this to, had also told him that a worse thing would come upon him if he did sin again. Does it sound like Jesus wanted this man to stop sinning? 1 Corinthians 10:13 says, "There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it." David said he hid His Word (i.e. God's Word) in his heart so that he may not sin against Him (Psalm 119:11). 1 Peter 4:1 says they that have suffered in the flesh have CEASED (stopped) from sin. Galatians 5:24 says that they that are Christ's have crucified the affections and lusts. Revelation 14:4-5 says that the 144,000 were without fault before the throne of God. This means we can also be without fault before God, too. For the Scriptures say, with God all things are possible. That is correct. Christians can and do sin, but if they are genuine Christians they do not make sinning a deliberate practice. If they do, then they have not truly repented. And if they fall, then they confess their sin, repent, and grow in grace.
Romans 10, teaches eternal salvation for those who believe and confess Christ. Yet you teach believers can go to hell.
Clearly an antichrist teaching.
9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him.
13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
Well this is what believers do, they call on God to save them. God forgives them their sins for the sake of His great name. That forgiveness is an eternal consolation. God does not remember their sins anymore.
Well, first, you are going to have to elaborate a little more on Romans 9 and Romans 10. Second, Romans 8:30 is in context to verse 28 for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. How does someone know if they are called according to God's purpose? By hearing with the ears and seeing with the eyes and by understanding with their heart (Whereby God would then convert or regenerate them).
"For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."
(Matthew 13:5).
I mean, Jesus said, "if you love me, keep my Commandments." (John 14:15).
Why would Jesus need to say this if loving God and keeping His Commandments was just some kind of automatic thing based on God's election?
Also, Jesus said,
""O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God's messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn't let me"
(Luke 13:34).
Did you catch that?
This passage is saying that God's people Israel was refusing to come to Him when He wanted to gather them (But they would not allow it).
