Christian view of ghosts?

I am a very new Christian, after a long time as an atheist and former pagan. I have always sort of...sensed spirits, for lack of a better term. And since about the year 2000, I have spoken with a ghost and become personal friends with him. I know a lot about his mortal life, why he likes me and talks to me, etc. He has been my friend through a lot of hard times, and I was wondering what the view of my new faith was on spirits like him. I know there is obviously a problem with witchcraft or devils, but he is a very good person, who was Christian in life, even. What's the scoop?

You should post such things to the Christians only area, then, as you are a Christian. There is a sub-forum for new Christians.

I won't get into the workings of the spiritual world here, that stuff has been kept in parable and vague statements in Scripture.

It isn't the sort of thing to throw outside the church.

The Bible is crystal, no person after they die can communicate with the living. So ghosts are either a fiction, or a delusion.

According to the bible communicating with the dead falls under witchcraft. When a person dies they do not remain wandering on the earth they are either taken to heaven, or taken to hell. The devil can speak using a human voice and imitate who ever he wants to imitate. He has followed people around through life so can even reveal things about a person that may be true. In the end he does it to throw doubt on what God says happens when a person dies, if people think there are ghosts, then they do not fear the after life and may reject God because they do not fear death outside of Christ. I would stop listening to that voice and instead learn to hear Gods voice instead. Ask God to reveal himself to you. It is not wrong to be spiritual but you need to know that you are intouch with God, not some spirit that is lurking around. You hear God based upon faith, faith that he will not give you something false when you ask him.
