  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I have been around both the secular and Christian music scene for many years now interviewing many artists and seeing a lot of shows, etc.

Truthfully...I have seen bad in both industries. I have seen Christian artists use drugs (light up)...and I have seen secular artists seriously talk to me about the Lord and their pasts....(I do have stories there...lol)

Through the years and the constant struggle of 'hanging' with secular artists I have decided a few years back to only cover Christian bands and ministries.

As you know there are Christian 'ministry' bands and then Christians IN bands...(The IN bands usually dont like to call themselves Christian bands)

The key is...does the music bless you?

Mark 9:38-39 Jesus says not to forbid someone who will do a miracle in his name...I have seen lots of people saved at shows where some of the band members curse, drink, etc...
I dont like that either...but it is a fact that it is in the Christian industry

People are different...Christ isnt....We all wont and dont agree on certain things...
The best we can do is pray and if something blesses you to live for Christ....I HIGHLY doubt it is a false spirit due to the fact that SATAN cannot cast out SATAN
(Mark 3:23)

Just hope the best in others...including musicians....pray for them in these positions because i have seen faith destoryed because someone saw them struggling or do something others considered wrong....

God Bless.

Whaaa.....what ever happend to actually LIKING the music?

I ask one question and one question only when it comes to music. "Do I like it?" If I answer yes to that question, then I listen to it. Nothing else even enters the query. I dont understand why people cant just listen to music for music's sake rather than require that it do something or not be something else

Hey now....I have to like the music to listen to it over and over....

I enjoy quality music as well.

I just meant that if the music blesses you this is a good thing...ya know?

There are plenty of AWESOME bands that dont touch my soul....but i listen to the music cause it rocks! But if God blesses me through it...thats rocks harder

i truly believe that it doesn't matter what the beat or instruments used in the song or music is....as long as it praises the lord, who cares?

i love christian rock and i love all different kinds of music.....i don't just listen to christian so i know what i'm talking about when i say that it's better to listen to a band rock out to God than talk about satan

Please understand......I would not deny that Slayer is one of the best death metal bands of their day...but most people whose lives are changed by God and are influenced by music heavily feel the need to change the message they are getting...So Christian music is an awesome alternative...as long as it is GOOD QUALITY....for me anyway

Ive met the guys from Slayer, when I covered Secular groups, and they are actually pretty laid back and really cool to me...But they...too...are looking for something more out of life and all I know is Christ fulfilled that in me...
