Too small for him. There are 9 justices and he would not have
the final say. He is going for Secretary General of the UN next.
Thank you for so clearly defining your rights vs. liberties dilemma. That explains a lot - no wonder people leave the country.Voting for someone who does not hold your same standard is pointless and futile.
No, he won't. Secretary Generals are never chosen from any of the permanent members of the Security Council. I'm sure Obama recognizes the wisdom of that exclusion and would respect it.
I'm sure he would love to be a Supreme Court Justice, however.
Post your proof.
He would respect it just as much as he respects the Constitution and cops.
Then again, the man of the house, Michelle, could take that job.
1. He respects them much more than someone who wants to ignore virtually all clauses of the 14th Amendment.
2. No American can hold that office, nor can any Russian, nor any Chinese, nor any Frenchman or Englishman.
1. I think we should change the 14th.
specific rule or law? All I could find is reference to an
'unwritten rule' that the SG cannot be from a founding
country.
Bush won by roughly 500 votes in Florida. That determined the election:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election_in_Florida,_2000
Technically the voters of Florida cast their ballots for electors: representatives to the Electoral College. In 2000 Florida was allocated 25 electors because it had 23 congressional districts and 2 senators. All candidates who appear on the ballot or qualify to receive write-in votes must submit a list of 25 electors, who pledge to vote for their candidate and his or her running mate. Whoever wins the most votes in the state is awarded all 25 electoral votes. Their chosen electors then vote for President and Vice President. Although electors are pledged to their candidate and running mate, they are not obligated to vote for them. An elector who votes for someone other than his or her candidate is known as a faithless elector.

So...stick around...vote...and help the wages and security problems.I'd be happy to leave this country if I secured employment in Canada. I'd also be happy to move Mexico if I knew my current salary was secure and our place of living was out of harms way. I challenge you to ask the next person you run into if the sentiments were the same.
Wages and security...that's what Americans really care about.
You being lukewarm does not make anyone more hot.I chose I won't vote at all. And before you get on me, remember this will making your vote count more.
Then don't criticize others for not upholding the Constitution.
Didn't say it was a rule of law. I said it can't be done. And it is not a question of being from a founding country it is a matter of being a permanent member of the Security Council. Because the Security Council nominates the SG and because permanent members can veto any nominee, it would put too much power in their hands if the SG were chosen for that position from one of those countries.
Canada seems very attractive currently. People are very nice and I prefer colder weather.

If Hillary gets elected, everyone who didn't vote to stop her will be to blame, including you.I chose I won't vote at all. And before you get on me, remember this will making your vote count more.
True Americans care about Liberty. It is Liberty that allows one the freedom to thrive and make income to secure their families. It is Liberty that allows us in the US to practice Christianity freely, and it is Liberty that allows us freedom of speech, which is nothing less than freedom of dissent, which you will not find in the Great White North.
