I am currently a regular on Undernet IRC. I am starting an new channel for chat on Christian Ethics, in #ethics. The focus is particularly on ethics in the vein of theologians/ethicists such as John H. Yoder, Deitrich Bonhoeffer, Karl Barth, Stanely Hauerwas, William Willimon, Philip Kenneson, Lee C. Camp, Rodney Clapp, etc.
It would also be interesting to see more discussion about this and other, deeper investigations of Christian ethics here on ChristianForums.com than the usual compartmentalized discussions regarding particular sins.
In general, these sorts of discussions assume that we've all read the Bible, and are very familiar with its content and themes. Quoting the Bible as a tool for proving a point is unwelcomed and offensive as the Bible is not something which we should be shaping for our purposes, but should shape us so that discussions move us towards God's purposes. This is not an attempt to ignore Scripture for the purpose of discussion, but to ignore our selfish agendum so that we might rather being honest about the call of the Gospel to what it means to be an ethical people according to the ethics of Jesus Christ.
Who else here is familiar with any of the folks I listed above, or those of their ilk?
