Argyle Park said:Hmmm... Did I just skip them, or are the Gaithers not on that list? We HAVE to include them.
MoreInSorrow said:N-Sync had a recording contract, and people buying their albums....but that doesn't mean they were good, either.
shinpai_ga_nai said:I don't think any Christian artists should just call it a day. Just because one singer or band is not my favorite, it doesn't mean someone else doesn't like them. Someone likes them and is buying their albums, otherwise they wouldn't have a recording contract. If an artist only reaches one person, that's enough for me and I consider their career meaningful. All of the bands you guys have listed have gotten their careers according to God's will, so if He wants them to continue making records for the next 20 years, it does not bother me because my opinion toward that band/singer means nothing ultimately. If you don't like a band, don't listen to them. You don't need to say they should call it a day.

You're right.blue_eyes36 said:What about secular muscians whove been around for more than 3 decades, like cher, tina turner,& rolling stonens ect.........dosent the same thing apply??
Ok, then to fit into the context of a Christian artist/band, I'll go back to Audio Adrenaline. I used to work at a Family Bookstores, and heard their stuff for probably the first 4 years they were around. At no time did they do anything worthy of having a record deal.shinpai_ga_nai said:You missed my whole point. And last time I checked N*Sync was not considered a Christian band, thus making your comment completely irrelevant to what I said in my last post in here.
blue_eyes36 said:if its thier passion and God is still opening doors and giving them songs and they still have fans why would they & should they stop, ???? oystop harping on who you dont like cus whether you like them or not SOMEBODY will....!!!!

And Michael W Smith is only still successful because he jumped on the worship album craze, otherwise, he'd be long since done as well.
