Had a weird day...it was very quiet here...now I must get used to not having the remodel noise for hours going on...LOL...we are waiting for some fixtures to come in...to really complete the job. Can't compare to people losing everything in a tornado.
The price of peanut butter has gone up $4.oo since last winter...
I watched all the horrible news about the loss of life, the injuries, and the destruction of entire towns. Those who have suffered loss will be in my prayers.
Here, if I were building a new home, I would include what they call here a "safe room". Typically, it's an above ground room with an optimal size of less than 12' x 12'. Strength is diminished with larger rooms. Typical construction is thicker concrete heavily reinforced with steel. The room has an extremely heavy steel door, and the typical cost is between $2,000 to $3,000 extra. These safe rooms can double as a wash room, a pantry, or other uses that would utilize the area daily. If I understand correctly, there are tax advantages of building either a safe room or storm shelter that are significant.
If my wife and I ever build our dream home, it will be much smaller than the one we have now, and it will definitely include a safe room.
I have had a cold for a week now. It is not terribly bad just draining. It is a balancing act to continue doing all my training and work yet ensuring the element of rest is there also. A goal is to be mindful through everything. I can only push myself so hard at this time.
Good morning Eagles! Sorry I've been away for a few days...I had a cough and didn't want to spread it around, lol. Actually, I've been painting like a mad woman. I've finally finished that monster DAY OF THE DEAD. In case anyone missed the initial post....it's a whopping 3 by 4 feet canvas. I've also finished a couple of new ones as well but won't be posting them here. You'll have to check my album if you want to see them. With that I bid you all a wonderful day. Hasta la proxima!
Boy we are quiet in here...
I have been getting a few comments on my WP Blog...yeah!
Spent time putting together some beaded necklaces today
and took the dog for 2 walks...slow walks, but we went...
it is getting hot here.
I have been quiet in general....
Hubby has been home (no work)
and we are coming to grips with our retirement/financial concerns....
and just feeling BLAH!
So between my being with him,
or just wanting to be quiet (in prayer) with my emotions....
I haven't been on much.
On the bright side..... it has
been beautifully warm here (in the 60's with melting snow)....
so we have been taking lovely walks with Penny
