Question: What is "The Cloud"?

I loved XP, I have Wins 7 but I don't like it, when I changed, I could no longer use some of my programs as they were corrupt or they just did not work and now that I have to use 64 bit it is worse. In my opinion, XP was the best OS going, why do they have to change things? My DH uses it in his business, he is not happy about what will happen in March either, grrrrrr.

Sorry the ABC Animal thread is messed up after I posted a reply. The posting came on too large and was unable to find the edit button. I sent a message about having it corrected. Thank you.

Found the end of the post and was able to edit; glad to get it corrected back to normal.

When they have earned AS-MUCH as they can, with MSoft's Windows XP
~market reaches-saturation
and sales slow down A LOT
Then, they bring on their techs, [?]
to tweak and twist
"an improved OS" + "Better Than EVER!!!"
What's more, the software changes to keep pace
and SUDDENLY
your DATED computer, cannot cope with the new software
and sites you used... have upgraded to use new software
degrading and perhaps
removing you ability to access them anymore
and your 'ancient wreck' cannot be 'upgraded'
You need a system with Hi-Speed Multi-Processors
several data-libraries of Random Access Memory
and a top of the 'mid range' [minimum] Graphic CARDS
and,
even, perhaps 'twinned'.... [TWO of them]

Why?

Let me think about that

re: Faith's post and lack of picture

No worries, I am sure they can fix it, I have accidentally post pictures too big as well, it happens

Yes, it will be very easy, for a moderator
to come over, and delete the post
No worries!
If I knew where to find the picture... I could go find it's link

dave

Thanks for the link, I read it, hmmmm,
I don't think I like the idea too much.

Everything CHANGES....~ FOR A REASON
and, that reason
is MONEY

To make 'money'....... And.... loads of it
~and
to TRY
to keep it to themselves

For me personally, using Adobe soft ware installed on my pc...to edit pictures, use layers and different tools for different effects....I am still using what I purchased about 3 years ago...but Adobe will no longer sell something I can own and install on my pc...for a monthly fee I must access all the same programs from the internet...when my program goes obsolete, I will quit Adobe...

"" when my program goes obsolete, I will quit Adobe...""

PaintDOTnet, comes a very good 'SECOND PLACE'

It is FREE, comes with many tools
and developers are offering even more for Free-Download and Install

It too has LAYERS and layer transparency adjustment

It doesn't [as far as I know] have OBJECT select
ie: same line thickness /colour /texture ...but,
it does have a magic wand selector, adjustable by % of colour match
and, anything selected by Magic Wand
can be copied / scaled / re-coloured / have texture replaced

I have just started my Introduction
to Image and Photo Editing and Graphic Creation Group
on Facebook

https://www.facebook.com/groups/466558256791357/

It is a 'Closed Group' ie: added members-only _ this, to prevent comments from 'outside'
Only members can read members posts

I am keeping it simple, so to accommodate ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS
But someone with your experience, and ability
would have no-difficulty at all

Adobe has put themselves out of my reach.

Photoshop and Elements have ALWAYS been out of my reach
The photoshop instruction I received during my photography class [years ago]
~just several hours [in total] gives me some experience
with-which to gauge and, make a comparison [?] as I said above

If you wish to download the program and check it out [?]
you may find their site here--¬
Paint.NET - Free Software for Digital Photo Editing

As a friend, I suggest you BEGIN with the program as is
BEFORE downloading and installing the complementary tool upgrades
just so that you may get used-to the basics [first]
and avoid confusion [later]
ie: copy shortcuts [links] from the site
~to those additional tools
and save them as 'text files' for later reference

I sure won't like that if it happens.

I've heard of the cloud, but I haven't really thought much about it.
I guess maybe I'll have to soon, then...

I won't either.

# You will

# Yes you can

# Oh yes you will

^^^ everything changes

It is... just because, it is NEW to us all

Do you remember ?

YOUR FIRST DAY at an ONLINE COMPUTER
AND
trying to remember HOW you managed to save a file/letter/image
AND WHERE
you saved it to ?????

Well, SOON, you wont be saving it 'at home'
you will be saving it to YOUR PLACE, IN THE SKY
albeit the CLOUD

All you will need is a registered terminal ~like an Iphone or Tablet

and it won't be very long, before, you will have forgotten
these desktop pc towers we have presently
