On the other board I went to, where I got this link, there was much anger and frustration. Maybe we might get some logic reasoning around here besides people calling them idiots and agents of Satan.

I mean come on, it's Paris Hilton. If that's the best Satan has got, he must be getting on some hard times, eh?

Carl's Jr loves the controversy. They have a history of telling people who don't like their ads to shove it. Personally, I think their ads with the chewing noises all over them are disgusting. I'd much rather see Paris Hilton than those.

Actually I think the proper response to the moral hysterics would be, thank you:

-thank you for giving us hundreds of thousands of dollars of free air time
-thank you for making people who many not have otherwise seen the ad aware of it
-thank you for getting our ad onto news programs, free of charge
-thank you for making out ad strategy so successful
-you have been played like a two bit harmonica ensuring that more such adds will be made, thank you and have a nice day

I decided that Carl's Jr. had gone too far when they used Hugh Hefner (playboy mogul) in an ad a year or two back. It was completely and totally revolting. I think that he said something about having more than one, or having all of them. They are definitely going in the direction of using pornography through references such as these. Those who have seared consciences will fail to recognize the dirty implications of these ads.

If Carl's Jr. needs all that to sell their burgers, they must not be too good. I've never even heard of them.

Watchdog groups getting upset over this ad have too much time and money on their hands.

Why should any watchdog groups be upset about this? Rejoice. It's Paris Hilton. Nobody wants to see her dumb blonde face on the screen anymore, especially when it involves food.

I'm one of those types where food and people pretending to be beautiful women don't mix.

Now thanks to their complaining, some people will start noticing Carl's Jr. and will start eating there.

The CEO at Carl's Jr. could've shot himself in the foot, but instead, it's the other way around.

That is of course why they put out ads like this, they work. Were there not groups that devote all their time and energy to having moral hissy fits the producers of ads might actually have to generate content that engrossed the many rather then offended the vocal few.

Honestly I don't agree with the add but you see more on the FX channel. Has anyone ever watched nip tuck. I thought I would watch it one time to see it and there was more sexual innuendo on that show. They even had a woman completely naked and showed her from behind.

It is up to parents to ensure that their kids do not see this stuff and I hope that they are showing the commercial on channels and at times that the parents can monitor.

Not that I agree with the hysteria surrounding this ad, as I don't, but here would be a good response to your response should one arise.

I would agree that it's no big deal except it was played during American Idol, which is one of the few shows I let my kids watch. My kids all commented on it and needless to say, I was mortified. It's like the begining of a bad porn film. They should only play it late at night during adult programming.

It's not just the rats...it's the talking babies. Talking babies and rat monkey things? Yeah they're much more disturbing than anything Carl's has put out.

And I second the opinion that those chewing noises are far more disturbing than Paris Hilton. Though seeing a woman with the boy of a 12 yr old boy trying to be sexy...that's actually more disturbing than I previously thought.
