Oh I see. I never had it so I didn't know what it consisted of. It reminds me of those Pearson candy bars they used to make.

I forgot about Baby Ruth. I think that was my favorite as a kid. I had a similar experience - parents letting me go to a neighborhood convenience store on my own. I'd usually get a couple of pieces of bubble gum and a Marvel comic. Hulk, Spiderman, etc. I'd like to think my parents were doing the right thing, trying to foster a sense of independence and responsibility in me, but in retrospect I'm not sure, because it was usually preceded by mom saying "Here's a dollar. Go somewhere else." And I'll never forget the sad look on mom's face when I'd manage to make it back home safely.

Haven’t seen “Bonomo” Turkish Taffy yet.
Is that even sold in the United States? Never seen it here. At least in the midwest.

I added a photograph, try a store that sells ONLY candy, they’ll have it.
Interesting. I've heard of it, just not around where I live. Maybe it's available in some small stores? I don't know.

this one pains me ... I love sugar as a kid, and as an adult
but I have been cutting down on sugar for a while ...

but, man, I love every candy ... all, except those hard ones ... they're still OK ... but they would be at the bottom of the list,

those white toblerones, snickers, coffee crisp, reese's, tootsie rolls, bounty!!!, hershey, nah, too boring ...
M&M, the ones with peanuts, gummie worms, love the sour ones, too ...
yeah, I was quite the sugar addict, lol

but have cut down on the sugar ... happy and sad at the same time ...

Was that named after babe Ruth?
Officially, no. The Baby Ruth was said to be named after Pres. Grover Cleveland's deceased daughter aka Baby Ruth (Cleveland).
However the candy bar was originally called "Kandy Kake" and was renamed during the era of Babe Ruth. Speculation is, the candy company was avoiding the commercial tie to prevent payment(s).
I've always thought that Baby Ruth and Snickers were the same thing by different companies.

I like Goo Goo Clusters, Zero Candy Bar and Pay Day.
original Pay Day only, the chocolate covered is too salty, where the salt works without the chocolate.
