your probly not gonna like my answer, and i really dont know if anyone that agrees with me on this becuase i havent asked around...

my simple answer is that, HE DID.

i cannot fully prove it, but heres why i believe this.

john 15.5
"i am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same BRINGETH FORTH MUCH FRUIT:..."

ephesians 5.9
"for the fruit of the spirit is in ALL GOODNESS, AND RIGHTEOUSNESS AND TRUTH"

i do not believe that anyone born again has any sin nature obligating them to sin and do evil things, rather a born again christian has a much stronger power inside them working, and causing them to go and do GOOD THINGS, RIGHTEOUS THINGS, AND TRUE THINGS. becuase if your in God have an inner pressure and influence to bear fruit for the Lord.
now there are things that pressure us to sin, but i dont beleive its the sin nature that obligated you to sin before you knew Christ.
old habits, addictive pleasures, mistakes, ignorance, etc, but that is not the sin nature. those are things you grow out of and throw off through Christ.

i dont believe anyone can say that we are obligated to a sin nature or to sin at all as a christian.

romans 6.22
"But now being MADE FREE from sin, and become servants unto God, YE HAVE YOUR FRUIT UNTO HOLINESS, and the end everlasting life."

after a man is born again, aside from the desires of his body, old habits, ignorance etc, he has more pressuring him TO DO GOOD, than to do evil.
there are alot of IFS ANDS OR BUTS, but the point is, basicly, you do have more pressuring you to do good, than to do evil.

we were made free from sin, i dont believe we can say that we have a sin nature after Christ, nor do i beleive it can said that a Christian must live in sin at all after the changing power of God in his life has taken process.

Dear Mel,
This is a good question! Personally, I believe it is because the flesh was made sinful through Adam and Eve (we should not blame them for we ALL have sinned therefore we would have sinned in the garden too, in the same circumstance). We are flesh creatures that must deal with our flesh and our flesh is sinful now because of the corruption of sin.
Jesus the only perfect man who thereby became the perfect sacrifice for us. HE redeems us and provides us with His grace, His redemptive blood to reclaim us and wash us when we fall if we BELIEVE in Him and ACCEPT Him as our Savior.
So we are not perfect after we accept Him because we still have our sinful flesh to deal with. I have seen many of His children proclaim 'to be perfectly sinless because they accepted Jesus' and commit atrocities. So this goes back to what is in the heart. Remember Jesus said out of the heart the mouth speaketh? Jesus also told us that we would know His followers by their fruit. (The Fruit of the Spirit they display to mankind.)
I wonder too why it wasn't made easier but maybe it is because when God made things too easy for mankind, they always tended to slip back into sinful ways. Through apathy or downright willfulness, we allow things to slip back in that we really don't want (ie the children of Israel) They went through this again and again. We see it happening even today. Perhaps this is why we must keep striving toward Him, so we won't take our eyes OFF of Him.

well i beleive the flesh can be defeated and mortified and we do not have to do anything becuase of its influence.
the bible clearly says that through the spirit we can and must mortify the deeds of the flesh, romans 8.
and in galations it says that we will not obey its desires if we walk in the spirit.
it also says in galations that true born again beleivers HAVE put the flesh to death.
so how can anyone say that the flesh has any control over how we act?
i do not beleive the flesh is any reason to say a christian must continue to sin.

romans 8.12-13
"therefor brethren we are debtors NOT TO THE FLESH TO LIVE AFTER THE FLESH...IF YE THROUGH THE SPIRIT DO MORTIFY THE DEEDS OF YOUR BODY."
galations 5.16
"walk in the spirit, and ye shall not fullfill the lust of the flesh"
galations 5.24-25
"and they that are christs HAVE crucified the flesh, with the affections and lusts. if we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

there is a way to walk with God the Spirit, and the flesh be totally defeated in a persons life, and it not cause them to sin.

why? thats not really the nature of salvation, its the removal of the death that sin brings. when Christ comes again, He will remove us from the presence of Sin at that time, untill then we have to worry about sin.
Hope this has helped. Oh by the way we also recieved the Holy Spirit upon salvation to help us and guide us, and we can have victory over sin, not us but Christ in us, but we can never not sin, we sin without thinking. sadly well
God bless

Why does God not eradicate a person's sin nature when He saves that person?
Good question. It would be nice if we didn't have that ole sin nature eh?

Because he doesn't violate free will. He desires that we choose to deny ourself for him daily. The sin nature is a good proving ground for faith. It allows faith to be purified and tested.

I wish he would erradicate it at salvation though.

I completely agree with Larry (well written). Our sin nature is the part of us that still desires to sin against God, and that is ever present, but God gives us His free gift of salvation, and desires that we continually choose to take up our cross and follow Him. For if we had no choice, then God is a liar, is He not?? But I believe that He is the truth, and He offers us a choice.

God Bless
