Any Christian who dates, goes with, marries a known atheist(or any non-Christian) is a prize fool weak in their Faith.
In both cases, each is fundamentally related to its inverse. There would be no distinction of righteousness without at least a little wickedness to contrast. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? (2 Corinthians 6:14)
"Known atheist"Any Christian who dates, goes with, marries a known atheist(or any non-Christian) is a prize fool weak in their Faith.
Once again simple Truth. A supposed Christian who yokes with a non-christian is a Fool and of questionable Faith. Sorry you don't like that.Hardly, As I said I know of one Christian/agnostic couple who are doing very well. Others in thsi thread have made similiar statements.
Again, you are entitled to your opinion.
Once again simple Truth. A supposed Christian who yokes with a non-christian is a Fool and of questionable Faith. Sorry you don't like that.
"What are we, terrorists now?" Dramatize much? Certainly you are a person a Christian should not be yoked to. As to terrorist. Let me check with NSA and see what else you are posting. I will get back to you."Known atheist"
What are we, terrorists now?
To answer the OP. Two people within the same religion is no guarantee that the relationship will work out. People aren't as easily defined by any single philosophy they hold. I would say that the answer depends entirely on the couple in question. You both should know each other quite well before going far in your relationship and be aware of each other's limits and respect those limits. No two people are perfectly meant for each other and relationships take work.
It sounds like you two are already at that point so I will simply wish you guys the best in your relationship and don't listen to what the nay-sayers have to say. They always have something to say.
It was a joke..."What are we, terrorists now?" Dramatize much?
Who says I'd even want to be "yoked" to anyone?Certainly you are a person a Christian should not be yoked to.
Please do! I'd love to know what you find...As to terrorist. Let me check with NSA and see what else you are posting. I will get back to you.
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"That isn't scripturally supported. The opposite is supported. Care to comment on what Paul wrote saying Christians can be married to non-Christians?
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"
Your move sport.
No, it isn't "simple truth." It is your opinion and nothing more.Once again simple Truth. A supposed Christian who yokes with a non-christian is a Fool and of questionable Faith. Sorry you don't like that.
Second, Why would Paul in the next chapter say being married to a non-Christian is ok, 1Co 7:12-14?
Saying it doesn't make it true, nor does it mean that people will agree with you. There's no purpose to this kind of rhetoric.Once again simple Truth. A supposed Christian who yokes with a non-christian is a Fool and of questionable Faith. Sorry you don't like that.
Paul is making reference to those who get save after marriage and their spouse does not.
Many Christians like to quote Paul's comments there to justify marrying an unsaved person.
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?"
Your move sport.
First of all that isn't related to marriage. Why not spend some time researching it? I already posted some commentaries that explain what it actually means.
Second, Why would Paul in the next chapter say being married to a non-Christian is ok, 1Co 7:12-14?
Not the next Chapter. Do not conflate 1 Cor. with 2 Cor.
I meant other book/letter, so why would he contradict himself? Clearly what he said about being yoked isn't about being married because he says marrying a non-Christian is ok.
Again Paul was referring to a group within the early Christian Church which was teaching that one must first become a Jew to become a Christian. He was brilliant as he used their own rhetoric against them. The lack of reason to think this refers to marriage is staggering. There is no mention of Marriage, husbands or wives in the chapter and those surrounding it. If I recall correctly there is not even a mention of women.
But those wishing to read things into Scripture will find a way.
Once again my statement was simple Truth. No doubt some here are up in arms because that Truth conflicts with current day proglib political correctness.Saying it doesn't make it true, nor does it mean that people will agree with you. There's no purpose to this kind of rhetoric.
