I loved him as Puddleglum! I actually bought the VHS of Silver Chair just for him. I'd love to see Sherlock Homes one day- didn't he cut his hair real short for that one?
I think I recall his hair being shorter. But it was a long time ago that I saw it.

I dont recall him playing sherlock holmes. Dr Who was originally concieved as a childrens programme to teach them about history but the monsters proved to be far more popular and the rest is history!
The show was conceived to be a children's "historical" program, but the character of the Doctor was patterned after Sherlock Holmes.

Talk about mission drift!

While I like all of Doctor Who (well, perhaps I like the C. Baker years a little less than others) my favorite episodes remain Hartnell's, as does his portrayal of the Doctor.

many fans I know regard Hartnell as the definitive Doctor

Here in the US he seems forgotten. But that is primarily a result of the fact that so few stations now carry Doctor WHO and of those few only a small handful run the Hartnell and Troughton series.

The latest news re season 30 (Series 2
) according to DWM

Episode 5 is now titled Rise of the Cybermen

Episode 7 (the Idiot latern) will co star the Comedian/actress MAureen Lipman

The eastenders Actress Edna Dore (most famous as Little MO) will also appear in the series.

The tv psychic Derek Acorah will play himself in an episode where the galaxy is invaded by ghosts (amy of ghosts perhaps?)

I also see David Warwick among the new cast but not sure if this is THE David Warwick (played Evil in the film Time BAndits.. Sark in the film Tron...would make a good Master!)

I got the Keys to Time for Christmas and just finished watching the first story. I'm not much into football, so I didn't want to watch the superbowl.

I'm still lovin' it after all these years!

Oh, I LOVE the key to time episodes! I always thought Romana #1 was much better then Lala.
Did you know that LaLa Ward and Tom Baker were an item? (At least back then?)

there will be werewolves in episode 2 of the new series.
ARTIST: Warren Zevon
TITLE: Werewolves of London

I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of Soho in the rain
He was looking for a place called Lee Ho Fook's
Going to get a big dish of beef chow mein
{Refrain}Ah-ooooo, werewolves of London
Ah-oooooAh-ooooo, werewolves of London
Ah-ooooo
If you hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again
{Refrain}
He's the hairy-handed gent who ran amok in Kent
Lately he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out, jim
Ha, I'd like to meet his tailor
{Refrain}
Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney Jr. walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's
His hair was perfect
Ah-ooooo, werewolves of London
Ah-ooooo, werewolves of London

I went to the Who shop in London today and bought the Tom baker years, (second hand and reasonably priced) , Meglos and The horror of fang rock. I'm about 4 or 5 stories away from a complete set of Tom Baker stories.

A question...has anyone listened to the Audio stories if so what did you think of them and what would recommend for a novice like me?
