No, I want to discuss what conditions one qualifies for immigration. That is part and parcel of a discussion on immigration. Now I have asked you what conditions do you see missing from our policy now?You want to discuss the issues in our cities, I'm more than happy to do so, but this thread is about the southern border and broader immigration policy. So either start a thread about that or stop trying to deflect from this thread.
If it were official policy there would be proof. The fact that there's no proof means it was not policy. No it was policy.
Well my grandparents just walked across the border and were in the country whose border they walked across at will. they weren't "caught", though. They were allowed to stay, even though that country had a border. That country was hospitable and helped people who needed help. Why doesn't America do that when we're way, way more wealthy than the country my grandparents walked into?Caughtmeans they cannot just walk across our border and be here at will. We have a border.
No, it was my grandparents, and they did not get turned away - read what I said again.Did you apply for asylum and get turned away?
Who is calling this country "bad'? it's not "bad" although it is not a Christian country and it does do some bad things (sometimes very bad things). What does not make sense to me an american. Why call this country bad, yet complain about all the people that want to escape here?
And why all the concern for people of other countries when you can see awful ,poverty, desperation, and violence in our once beautiful cities?[/quote]No it was policy.
I don't know - why don't you ask someone who is advocating such a thing? I'm not advocating such a thing. As a CHRISTIAN HOW IS IT ONE WOULD ADVOCATE SUCH COMPASSION ON THESE AND NOT THEIR OWN?
It was my grandparents, not me. But they were taken in by a poor nation with its own problems, much poorer than the USA and with many more problems and starving people and children than the USA, but they let my grandparents as children and teens walk right in across their border and they helped them get on their feet and fed and clothed and housed them. This is a poor nation that did this for them, a nation nowhere near as wealthy as America.Did you go to that muslim house and find his children near starvation, while he fed you a feast?
I work in the middle of Manhatan, New York City, 5 days a week, and I walk those streets each day to and from the office. I see it all and I do my part to help those who need help. As bad as it is, the kids coming to our borders actually have a much worse and much more desperate situation. I believe that my country, America, is wealthy and great enough to help all these children (as well as adults) who need help. It is a point of shame to us that we don't, especialy because we can, easily.Take a walk in some of our cities (if you dare) You will find people living on sidewalks, feces on the sidewalks, urine and the stench of it all. Gun shots, drug and gang violence all played out, children being killed in others. You see despertion all over the place. And as these politicians speak of the awful plight of the immigrants, while stepping over their own in their own city side walks.
I personally have experienced this. The wages I used to make back in the 80's had only been raised to about 4.00 more after all those years. I went back to work when my kids were raised. Back in the 80's I would have made more working for a union shop, Than I was able to make in 2015 because of this. About a 6.00 dollar difference. And no I was not in the field of work you have mentioned. One illegal I seen on T.V. was a mail carrier for the postal service. Again the Marxist loves this. All they have to do now to ruin corporations is to force them to pay these immigrants a higher wage. When the wages got so low Americans did not take thoseThat's sound principle on paper....if one ignores the 40 plus years US employers have been enticing illegal immigrants to come north and work. And those workers are valued by US companies -- from mom and pop landscapers to hotel chains to large corporations.
I don't need to ask myself. As a victim of this myself let me give you my take. Allowing illegals in to work, ruined wages for Americans. For years Americans have no knowledge or experience to do those jobs readily. Now all the Marxist has to do is force wage raises for those jobs illegals have flourished in. Illegals will be the first choice because Americans have not done them for several decades now.Ask yourself, how may US companies have been convicted for hiring illegal labor over the past 40 years? There's a reason no president, including donald j trump, have never aggressively gone after employers in a comprehensive manner.....
You live in the U.S.If it were official policy there would be proof. The fact that there's no proof means it was not policy.
This is an easy one to answer - here's why:If it were official policy there would be proof. The fact that there's no proof means it was not policy.

No it is illegality at work, lawlessnes. And our governing officials not enforcing our laws .But you have exposed your views.I agree, employers have been able to keep wages low due to the supply of labor. Why hasn't our government taken steps to enforce legal employment? btw, this is good old capitalism at work......

I didn't see you ask that before, so my apologies. So I really think we need comprehensive reform because hundreds of thousands of people going through our immigration system every year is not sustainable. One of the biggest things I would do is get rid of the quota for H-1 visas, but also make it harder for a business to qualify for one. I would also mandate e-verify or something like it. I would increase the funding and personal at the department of labor and have them both enforce the e-verify requirement plus existing wage and labor and osha rules. The largest reason that employers hire undocumented folk is that they can get away with violating US labor law by threatening to get the workers deported if they complain. This takes away a lot of the economic incentive for people to come here seeking jobs. As part of that same reform, I would make the current F-1 visas dual-status visas since a lot of F-1 students overstay their visa, and I much rather they be able to legally find work without having to get a H-2B visa. No, I want to discuss what conditions one qualifies for immigration. Calling a problem caused by illegal activity "capitolism". It wasn't capitalism which took down my wages. Capitalism gave me 17 dollars to start in 1980 to 11 dollars in 2015. What changed it? Illegals being allowed in with a wink. What is my exposure?
No, it actually was capitalism that took down your wages. You know why? Because business owners are going to try and save as much money as they can, including by hiring undocumented workers at lower wages. Yet I don't see you denouncing them.Calling a problem caused by illegal activity "capitolism". It wasn't capitalism which took down my wages. With economic migrants dealt with, then I would use those resources at the border. One of the biggest things I would do is create immigration courts in every single Border Patrol station so that the cases could be adjudicated quickly. That should hopefully reduce the amount of backlog, which reduces the need for supervised release, which I think should still be allowable for those who have some sort of sponsor, especially since electronic monitoring is already required. But really I think reducing the economic incentive will reduce a lot of the draw for illegal entry and visa overstays.
No it was not, that is a lieNo, it actually was capitalism that took down your wages. You know why? Because business owners are going to try and save as much money as they can, including by hiring undocumented workers at lower wages. Yet I don't see you denouncing them.
That is very much capitalism. Lowest wage for the highest profit.Calling a problem caused by illegal activity "capitolism". It wasn't capitalism which took down my wages. Capitalism gave me 17 dollars to start in 1980 to 11 dollars in 2015. What changed it? Illegals being allowed in with a wink.

You really need to grab a dictionary and figure out what capitalism, Marxism, communism, and socialism mean.Capitolism Gave me higher wages, that's why. It was illegality which caused them to decline. So you Marxist, socialist or communist?
None of the above. I'm a capitalist, though I believe in more regulations than we currently have. How did the illegality cause your wages to decline? By what mechanism?Capitolism Gave me higher wages, that's why. It was illegality which caused them to decline. So you Marxist, socialist or communist?
You tooYou really need to grab a dictionary and figure out what capitalism, Marxism, communism, and socialism mean.
From a capitalist perspective, why should an employer pay more for labor when motivated workers are available for less?
I mean really, people steel to not pay at all. All those people you see on the news going into stores and walking out with a thousand worth of Goods, are all capitalists. They are supported by blm a marxist organization
An employer made a decision to hire an illegal immigrant.
