This is one of my favorite Bob Newhart sketches.


A woman has real anxieties, and the psychiatrist just keeps telling her to "stop it." It is funny because almost every day, I want to say this to someone. Of course it doesn't work with real people. But oh how I wish it did!

Somehow I distinctly remember when it was out in theatres back then and a friend asked me to come along with him to see it, when I inwardly groaned at the thought of wasting my Saturday night watching a Will Ferrell comedy ... instead of staying at home playing Resident Evil as always.

And then at the beginning of the movie I was like, "Cool. Is that Bob Newhart?"

Indeed. May the man rest in peace.

I saw that movie in the later part of the 2000s. Resident Evil is that old (just checked, it is from 1996)? There was a big Resident Evil game that came out in the late-2010s, that was a remake. I do not play video games though. It is good that you enjoyed Elf.

And yes, may this man rest in peace.
