That's sad.And where do those passages regarding what happened at the Temple say anything about "rendering unto Ceasar." They don't. You interpolated it
Mmmmmmm, makin' bacon! Even demons can have their good days.
I prefer a commander with courage..
I prefer a commander with courage.
Every country has an army.It doesn't take courage to go to war when you can send people out to do your fighting for you. You just have to be trigger-happy.
You'd think we'd have had enough war over the past 14 years. And what have we got out of it? A lot of wounded warriors we need TV ads to take care of because the government would rather spend its money killing people than healing those it sends out to do its dirty work.
I realize there are those that would rather see an enemy overtake the United States but that is never going to happen.A commander who sends other peoples children to die in an overseas war is not demonstrating courage. When a company the VP ran made over twenty billion dollars from the war, the VP was not demonstrating courage.
Are you referring to one of Obama lies? ""The fact is that although we have had a president who is opposed to abortion over the last eight years, abortions have not gone down.''Then how do you explain why the decline in abortions stalled out during the Bush Administration and then went down sharply during Obama's administration?

Biden's son served and risked his life to defend the homeland. A volunteer military that believes when the soldiers have signed up that this country is worth dying for. And unless you've served you're in no position to condemn those who have. Or the CiC that is the leader of the country just because he doesn't take to the front lines.

Like all morality this is one of those "reap what you sow" kind of effects just like economic effects. So if Bush did have an effect of lowering abortion this effect would continue after he left office. No, actually I was referring to an NPR article. I can't find the one regarding the declining stalling out (never said it went up) during the Bush Administration but here is one regarding its decline during Obama's Administration:

Don't be surprised when unbelievers try to rework the Bible to say what it has never said.

Unless you can show me where the Bible indicates Jesus threw the moneylenders out of the Temple because they were 'rendering unto Ceasar' you guys are the ones reworking the Bible to say what it never said.
I've read this thread through and I do not see where anyone affirmed what you're claiming. Though someone did attempt to interject the Caesar reference to derail the debate that doesn't mean there are scriptures that coincide.
From the perspective of what the money lenders were doing while in attendance outside the Temple, that is true. They were rendering unto Caesar because they were exchanging foreign coin for that of the Cesarean coin of the realm
I think if you go back a few pages you'll see that the person who introduced the money lenders was in post #123.The person who tried to "derail" the debate by saying it was in reaction to the money-changers 'rendering unto Ceasar' is the person you made your post supporting!
It was the fact the money lenders-changers, were at the Temple at all. And being many were Jews then they were indeed rendering unto Caesar and unto the heads of the temple treasury who also benefited from the alliance and quite contrary to the passage in Isaiah.Jesus said we should render unto Ceasar so that obviously was not issue here. it was the manner in which they were exploiting those who came to the Temple by making a profit this. As you yourself pointing out, there is no scripture which coincides with the interpretation that Jesus' disapproval had anything to do with 'rendering unto Ceasar.'

'Jesus disapproval was fully invested in the violation of the Temple through this means of selling and profiting from sacrifices bought and sold outside his house.
What other reason would you give for Jesus wrath against the money lenders?
I remember. And you made the accusation as to the one who introduced money lenders being the one to whom I posted support. Which was in error. We were talking about whether Jesus' treatment of the money lenders was because they were 'rendering unto Ceasar' remember?
Where exactly is the scripture that has Jesus using that exact word; should? You are totally ignoring the fact that Jesus said we should render unto Ceasar. So whether they were doing that or not had nothing to do with Jesus' disapproval.
You appear to forget the latter part of Jesus teaching with regard to that complete verse. "...and unto God that which is God's." This is what caused Jesus to become upset when he happened on the scene at the Temple. You appear to have ignored the Isaiah verse previously shared here with regard to God's will and the Temple's function. The reason you give above, that they were profiting from the sacrifices, not that they were '"rendering unto Ceasar" something we are all commanded to do according to the Bible.
