People dont want to hear this.It means a peaceful society can only occur when there is justice. For me, when I chant it, I’m saying don’t expect me to just go along with this injustice. I’m going to keep protesting and marching and chanting and fighting, because I’m not going to let the people in power think that everything is Ok when it’s not. I’m not going to pretend that we have peace when black people do not have peace. I’m not going to pretend that we have peace because a certain class of people is insulated from the suffering that poverty and racism and the criminal justice system causes. There is no peace until we all have peace. There is no peace until black lives matter as much as white lives.
The fact that the chant comes from MLK, one of the greatest architects of non-violent protest, should be enough to tell you that the chant is not intended as a threat of violence. Since you know it comes from him, why are you questioning it’s intent?
Most of what’s on that list hasn’t even happened. Now all crime is committed by BLM protesters? And you want to claim that those of us chanting “no justice, no peace” did all of that? Take that to the conspiracy forum.I have no problem with those who stand on a street corner and chant whatever they like while waving signs around. But when they go into businesses and demand people chant their slogans, or drag people out of cars and beat them with bricks, or burn down businesses and homes, or start wildfires, then I have a problem with it.
I also have a problem with them threatening businesses and organizations into advertising for them. Fortunately, those that do are reaping the consequences of it and will continue to do so until they cease.
No leader at any BLM event I’ve ever been to has promoted, encouraged, or condoned violence. To the contrary, most leaders have discouraged it and promoted peaceful protest. How do you know what the leaders are or aren’t conveying? Have you ever been at a march or rally?
Yes! And this is why I believe that the cops put far more energy into teargassing and beating peaceful protesters/ shutting down protest than they do apprehending the people damaging property and throwing Molotov cocktails. They want that stuff to continue so that all of the focus is on the “bad” protesters.People dont want to hear this.
They prefer the violence so they dont have to think about the actual issues people are upset over. They will even invent it, like BLM starting forest fires or whatever.
Most that were separated were from thier traffickers, not parents. But I guess we should just leave them with the people who brought them here to sell thier bodies...

I can’t even name most of the leaders here in Portland, how would you know who they are, and when are they ever being interviewed or covered by the press?
