  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

309 Ok I'll keep posting the facts!!

By 5 minutes the fire is a roasting 800C and the glass in the windows begins to break from the amount of heat. this lets in a huge amount of fresh oxygen into the fire sending the temprature through the roof literally to over 1000C

311 Sorry this is taking so long. My palms are sweating from writing this. I was shocked at how quiclky that fire spread. honestly it was phenominal.

They didn't say much on how to get out but the main things are Shut the doors and windows to the fire or if you can't do that to the rooms that you are in. This will give you time and a lower temperature. Yes it will be very hot but at least it won't be A) smokey and B) an inferno. The other thing that was stressed was how important it is to have a fire alarm fitted.

I also learn't how you should escape from an upstairs window if you have to. What you should do is sit on the window sill of the open window facing into the room. The turn round so that your legs are out of the window but your head is in the room and you are on your front. Slowly lower yourself down so that you are hanging from the sill. You should then just let go of the sill and land as you wouldif you were jumping up and down. What you musn't do is actually jump because you could badly twist your ankle or break it and cause other injuries.

Once the windows have broken and the fire temperature soars to over 1000C, furnishings and carpet begin to spontaneously ignite.

*If there are any fire women/men please check over this incase it is wrong. I would hate to be giving out false info but I feel it is so important*

313 yeah it is bt it is warm in the room i'm in and i'm nearly shacking!! It was pretty scary watching that programme and I also don't want to give any false info. It is what I know and what I have got from TV programmes that I have watched.

Yes the fire will eventually reach you but basically don't hang around.

In this programme they had one room with the door open and one with the room closed. the open door room was almost unrecognisable. there was a bunk bed in the room and all that was left were the melted springs of the matress and the bed frame. In the room with the door closed everything was pretty much still there including the duvet and some various toys and so on. They had done it up as a baby's room. I.e. that if you close the door to your room you could survive the fire or at least your chances of survival are much higher

315 I have edited somme of the posts that i have made so you might want to refresh your browser to see them all properly.

They did various other things to other houses as well including simulating a hurricane and a gas explosion. Niether of them were as scary as the fire. the gas explosion was weird. They had set out the table for what looked like afternoon tea or whatever adn there was a leak in the kitchen. in the kitchen was the cooker and so on and so forth and a non load bearing internal wall. the funny thing is that the cups and plates barely moved on the table but the internal wall moved back 3 meters. All the windows were blown out yet most of the smaller things in the house were untouched.

I hope your not watching what I watched. Some of it was a little funny like the hurricane one they managed to get some fans that had 9 foot blades from hollywood i think to recreate a hurricane. they then said that this is the worlds smallest hurricane!! Lol true though!! only one house was involved!! Lol
