  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Cast your bread upon the waters, For you will find it after many days (Ecc 11:1).
“Every man must labor to be a blessing to that place where the providence of God casts him. Wherever we are, we may find good work to do, if we have but hearts to do it. If we magnify every little difficulty, start objections, and fancy hardships, we shall never go on, much less go through with our work.” - Benson
Be not weary in well-doing, for in due season, in God's time, you shall reap, (Gal 6:9).

Are there setbacks to one’s original resolve, query or quest for reaping a return? Benson’s opening attention to responsibility sets a tone of engagement in what God brings our way. The only setback to the above would be a pattern of negligence.

Today, we have the option of “casting all our care upon Him”. Where our “labor” comes in is that which He leads us onward individually to function in. Today’s setback to V-9 is trying to undermine the abilities He grants to others equipped in other matters to perform His will. What other matters?

We have concerns inside the Church at varying degrees of interest (“desires of the heart”). Some are more universal than others. Desires for the lost, the furtherance of the Gospel, the growth of the flock and the many degrees of discipleship all the while, maintaining a constant guard against divisions.

But the above marks the end of our journey as the Body of Christ which came to be known “as one”. For some Christians are incensed that other brothers would take the merits of doctrine to the world outside the confines of the physical BOC. Does the Father equip wrongly? True, “My kingdom is not of this world” does not cancel the fact Him calling the world “yours” (1 Cor 3:22). We are to be "of the same mind", not ability.

‘Another dispensation’? Don’t even, these points from the NT are in the current place and time wherever and whenever you see them (1Cor 6:3).
