  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they SHALL BE SATISFIED

When will this happen?

The Beatitudes begin with Matthew 5:

3“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Around the middle, we have:

6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
for they will be filled.
will be filled.
χορτασθήσονται (chortasthēsontai)
Verb - Future Indicative Passive - 3rd Person Plural

The Beatitudes continue to

10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
The kingdom of heaven begins when one believes. It begins presently.

The Beatitudes end with

11“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad,
Rejoice and be glad now, and it does not stop here:

because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
When shall those who hunger and thirst for righteousness be satisfied?

They will be satisfied as soon as they believe, and the satisfaction will continue for eternity. This is a spiritual satisfaction, not necessarily a physical one.
