  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You might find Baylor to be more conservative than what you are looking for.

universalism is generally not an accpeptable belief there - I mean, as I understand it, the grading is fair, but you might find yourself a fish out of water, so to speak.

blessings in Christ from former Waco resident and ultra-conservative Pentecostal....

woah, Baylor is an awesome school. definitely not ultra conservative to the point of communism like some Christian schools. I was planning to go there too, but now my folks want me to go to a closer one to home so i think i found a good one in my state.

I am a Baylor grad.

Here are some positives. It is the largest Baptist University in the world. It has a nice campus. A ton of major to choose from. It's respected academically.

Cons: It cost a crazy amount of money; pretty much twice as much as public schools. 75% of the student body is "Greek", that is to say they are in fraternities and sororities. Beware of the Baylor bubble. The Baylor bubble is basically a naive view of the world fostered by the fact that a lot of the people who go there have grown up with money and have had to face very little hardships in their lives due to that fact. At times it can be very high schoolish. That it to say that it can be difficult to get to know people after your freshmen year. By then a lot of people have their clicks and don't want to venture out anymore.

On a side note: I am a male, however, I have heard that it can be hard on a lot of girls who go to Baylor. Basically you have this thing called Baylor beauties, a titled well earned, becaue it seems like every girl there is extremely attractive, which can cause some real self-esteem problems for a lot of the female population. That's just what I've heard. I've heard that Baylor has more than its fare share of Anarexia and Balemia problems. A rumor supported by my Health Professor (female) there who admitted to being a student at Baylor and becoming Anarexic due to the pressure to be a Baylor Beautie.

If you do go to Baylor I recommend Highlands first baptist church. It's a bit to trendy but the Pastor is great. You might also want to try out "Church under the bridge", ask around and you can find out about that. Jimmy is the pastor there and he's just one of those guys who is going to recieve a huge amount of reward when he sees the Lord for all the ways he has advanced Chirst's kingdom.
