  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I sure hope this isn't true! I need opinions on this article. I just am in shock right now and don't know what to believe.

True newsmax.com isn't the leader in the journalistic world but I have seen them to be right and fast coming with news stories in the past.

True, they have just rolled it up into one package. Frankly I don't think the war will last that long and that Bagdad will fall on or before the first of May. There were some bad decisions made at the onset of the invasion, thanksfully they haven't resulted in any large scale loss of life on our side. I'm tempted to think that we were almost trying to show what we could do with only two Divisions in Iraq, instead of insuring we had the overwelming firepower neded to bring this war to a quick end. We have 12 active Army Divisions, why else would we not go in with at least 5 or 6?

My view is that they (the prez and Powell) really are trying to minimize casualties, if not for humanitarian reasons then for world opinion reasons. Let's face, as far as a blitzkreig goes, we could have bombed them back to the stone age, but didn't. I believe that he, contrary to what you hear in the press, really does care what the rest of the world thinks. I just pray that it works out that way, this is far from over.

This 'intelligence analysis' is posted daily on the internet. Thus, the claim that they are advising the Iraqis could be considered correct - after all, if Saddam has access to the Internet, he could read it there.

But to me it simply looks like one of thousands of military analyses being released daily on the web, television, radio and in newspapers. Iraq can get great advice from Fox if they want to - after all, Fox releases details about US troop movements.
