Seven of Nine looks around the empty room. Her latest attempt at small talk has obviously been her greatest failure ever. She rises, makes her way to K'Ehleyr's empty vessel, abstracts the chronoton device from it, leaving in its place a padd on which she has noted her farewell and her promise to set the device to return when she is done with it.
Then Seven picks up Three of Eight, carefully avoiding being punctured by his his tiny injection tubules, enters the Delta Flyer, installs the chronoton device, and prepares to depart this century for her own.
The Twenty-First century is a cold, unfriendly, chaotic period, and she is now willing to risk arrest and imprisonment in her own time for the illegal use of the chronoton device than remain in it. As she activates the time machine, she wonders if Brim isn't better off where he is; perhaps safer and happier among the Neanderthal people.
As the Delta Flyer dematerializes, the cronoton device reappears, and several miles away, poor Kevin, who Seven has entirely forgotten, is still trying to futilely attempting to remove his purchase from the Vend-A-Goat Machine.
