The sad thing is that Richat structure is fascinating:
  • The doming, a result of the formation of a magma chamber, exposes a range of sedimentary rocks from Late Proterozoic to Ordovician
  • Bimodal vulcanism exhibiting a tholeitic trend, with gabbroic ring dykes, contrasting with rhyolitic lavas and pyroclasts.
  • Carbonatite and kimberlite intrusions, the former being the rare carbonate bearing igneous rocks, the latter where we find diamonds.
  • The form of the dome (elliptical), the location and orientation of dykes, the positioning of volcanic centres, all controlled by stress fields within the craton that were repeatedly reactivated.
  • Late stage hydrothermal alteration of rocks within the structure, including resultant brecciation of sediments at the centre of the dome.
These are the interesting things about the structure. Not an easily refuted fantasy about an identity with Atlantis. Superficially Emmet may appear to be going round in circles, but I think it more likely he is simply spiralling out of control.

While I do understand the hasty disregard for controversial topics and the connotations surrounding Atlantis believed to be merely a mythological tale, but objectively speaking, and working past our own cognitive dissonances, the reasoning presented by Bright Insight is sound.

If true, I'm not sure how this would significantly affect current beliefs because we know that the Sahara Desert once had a much more wet tropical climate and ongoing archaeological evidence suggests man once inhabited many parts of Northern Africa. Perhaps this is indicative of fine-tuning current beliefs while of course differentiating between fable and factual historical significance.

This is not evidence, since there are other possible explanations and you have not shown that these other explanations are not possible.
