I do wonder why atheists keep making these "ask an atheist anything" threads. As if speaking to an atheist around here is such a rarity.
Observation. What are you sources of knowledge?
It depends on what you mean by randomness. When most people say random, they mean randomness with a uniform probability distribution function (pdf), i.e., like throwing a single die. With one die, ideally, the values 1 through 6 are each equally likely. However, there are many, many pdfs that scientists consider and mathematically, they are infinite.Do you think randomness is only an unperceived pattern or do you think all patterns break down to unperceived randomness?
Yes.Do you think cause and effect govern all natural processes, including human emotion?
Yes.Do you think objective truth exists?
No.Do you think objective morality exists?
Why yes, one thing that interests me is more on the true reasons behind people becoming christians. I understand that some people claim its because "god is real" but i wish to go deeper.
So my main question is: why are you christian?
A god who controls peoplem would not base going to heaven on what religion you follow, but on how you live your life, otherwise that would be really stupid.
Because I am Jacob, master of bad ideas.

Yes, especially when it irks people that we do, in fact, have an absence in belief. Can an absence of belief be fun?
I am simply amazed by seeing so many questions thrown toward an atheist. It should be an alarm to them. It is simply an idea with too many hard questions. And for the worse, each hard question could have many versions of "correct" answer depends on the person.
All minorities get lots of questions. Why should it be an alarm that somebody else doesn't understand how I think or what I value?
And just because you think a question is hard doesn't mean everybody does. Personally, what I find alarming is how many religious people seem to think that morality is just utterly incomprehensible. I got a question yesterday that was, almost verbatim, "rape, murder? Are they right? Wrong?! How can you possibly make sense of it all on your own!? There just aren't enough hours in the day to figure it out!!" That's pretty terrifying.
That is exactly what I meant. It is such a hard question for atheists. That is ridiculous.
For Christian, it only takes one second to come with the answer: Wrong!. Regardless whether the answer is good or not-good to you, it is an unified answer and is a very easy one.

To you. Innumerable other Christians have justified rape and murder, arguing that God forgives them or that it's for the greater good or something. That you (and I) hold rape and murder to be absolutely wrong, doesn't mean everyone else does. That is exactly what I meant. It is such a hard question for atheists. That is ridiculous.

That, I have not seen. I'm calling shenanigans
Judges 19:25
But the men would not hearken to him: so the man took his concubine, and brought her forth unto them; and they knew her, and abused her all the night until the morning: and when the day began to spring, they let her go.
Describes how it is apparently justified to have a woman gangraped if it means preventing such a fate from befalling your male guest.
By all means though I am probably taking that verse "out of context".
