Did you enjoy the game? I've never played it.

Yes, I'm a big fan of survival horror, so long as it does not cross personal boundaries of mine. You may find it a bit surprising, but I actually like not to walk in darkness, but to challenge and overcome all of those things which go bump in the night when it comes to the darkness, in survival horror games like Resident Evil 3. To see how brave I am. Just call me SK the Monster Slayer. ^-^

If you're tackling things that go bump in the night I don't have to. I'm safer with the Sims. I think the darkness would make me sad. But you're well equipped to slay it.

I still have yet to beat the second one (remake). Honestly the game was just too scary for me to continue playing.. although the game itself is pretty good.

What, you, MehGuy? Scared of that game? Iiiiiii find it a bit hard to believe.

Although, I admit, I too got quite a chill walking down that first darkened, abandoned hallway of the police station in the RE2 Remake, gun poised. ... Not knowing what to expect. So quiet and ominous ....

... And then it turns out that no monster actually leaps to attack out of the dark in that hallway after all, unlike in the original game.

Those games are pretty scary.. especially with modern graphics. The atmosphere is incredible though.

Yeah it surprised me too. Although this was probably the first horror game I have ever played. It just looks too realistic, and especially playing with headphones.. also having to watch every bullet. It's juts a well designed game.

The Last Of Us creeped me out at parts too. Although not sure if I'd count that as a horror game or not.

Thanks. I'll take it from here, Bella. *draws sword*

Don't get me wrong. I still tend to like the cute and pleasant things just as much, if not more than the horror stuff, mind you. Especially in books and anime.

I don't think I'm tough, lol. Cannot imagine playing that game with a virtual reality headset. Although I think I got halfway through the game. Or at least almost finished the Leon story. Almost lost it when I was scavenging through the morgue.

Honestly gotta start up that game sometime.

I don't mind violent games though. Does that give me a few tough points back? Being big enough to pick on NPCs?

The Last Of Us creeped me out at parts too.

When I heard that at the end of that game you can or must go on a killing spree of pretty much other human beings just to rescue Elly, I decided against ever playing it, myself. That is an example of where my personal boundaries are crossed in video games. Fighting mindless monsters is one thing, but I actually am very averse to playing a "hero" who slaughters other, actual humans.

One of the many reasons I despised Bioshock Infinite despite being a huge fan of the stories and characters of the previous two games.

But, you know, just my worldview on things like gaming.

I can't believe how much I liked Leon and Claire both even better in the remake than the original. Claire just had this cutesy little face that belied her general toughness and street smarts. But in a nice, juxtaposition-y way.

There hardly went a moment where even in the bad circumstances she wasn't turning on the dimple machine with her goofy smile.

She be like, "... Oh, a monster literally three times my size with four giant clawed hands. .... I got this."

Oh yeah, personally I liked that part. Was kind of disgusting.. and the end of the game doesn't glorify it. In fact the second game is all about the consequences of that. The first game was about "love" and apparently the second game is about "hate". The reviewers thus far said the game is incredibly violent, much more than the first one.

Funny though, when I played that scene I was supposed to like stab the final doctor with a knife or whatever.. but I decided to light him on fire instead. It ended him screaming in sheer pain. The game wanted me to do a travesty but I don't think it expected me to take it to that unneeded level... lol. Even I was like.. oh what did I just do.. I'm ashamed of myself.. lol. In the second game the daughter of the doctor you killed apparently takes revenge on Joel "the guy you play". I'm like.. yeah I lit her father on fire.. I deserve whatever is coming to me.. lol.

Strong, independent girls you can play as, or damsels in distress who you have to save in video games.
Both can make for good and likable characters to me, personally. Just depends on how they deliver their personalities. ^-^

Hmm.. I never tried the Claire part.. heck.. maybe tomorrow I will. When I buy a game I want to finish it, no matter how scary and hard it may be, lol.

You ever played Metal Gear Solid 5? That's probably my favorite game of this generation.

All right. I'ma head back out and get some reading done.

The book I am on right now was apparently a really hyped one from 2019 by a first-time author named Rory Powers. Titled Wilder Girls.

About 60 pages in and it's pretty much like Lord of the Flies but with girls instead of boys. Don't really know how I feel about it yet.

G'night, all.

I played D&D Heroes as the wizard. That took a lot of focus and skill.

You and Meh are tough. I should be able to hide behind you both. Just saying.

You wouldn't like Anita Sarkeesian.

Never played D&D.. sounds interesting though.
