Why bring Christians into the Question about Gods' Covenant between Israel and God?
Moses did not write 613 laws. They make it very clear that they have added to what we receive from Moses in the Torah. There are 600,000 stokes of the pen that make up the 304,805 letters. It is a nice list to read over and study. Judaism 101: A List of the 613 Mitzvot (Commandments)If Israel obeyed all 613 commandments of the law of Moses,
Health or sickness is a choice we still have today. Diet - exercise & stress control has been shown in study after study to have great benefits in providing us with good health. Just like we can choose poverty or prosperity. My son is a computer engineering student. He is pretty sure that prosperity does not come easy and you have to work for it. Poverty is pretty easy to obtain: "A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and need like a bandit". Proverb 24: 33,34Was good health one of the conditional promises God would give Israel if they obeyed all 613 commandments under the old covenant agreement?

Always if you use God dictionary and God's definition for the meaning of the word prosperity. If you go by man's definition and use his dictionary then anything goes. The psalms begin with showing us how we can prosper. People do not realize the law was given for our benefit so God can prosper us in all we do.Not always
Moses wrote the laws in the Torah but he did not write all 613 laws that the Hasidim people teach and we find in many places online. They believe it is acceptable to add to what we receive from Moses as long as it is clear what we receive from Moses and what they added to the law. Paul talks about the letter of the law and the righteous requirements of the law: "so that the righteous standard of the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit." (Romans 8:4) Most people do not understand what Paul was talking about: (2Peter3:16) "Consider also that our Lord’s patience brings salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote you with the wisdom God gave him. He writes this way in all his letters, speaking in them about such matters. Some parts of his letters are hard to understand, which ignorant and unstable people distort, as they do the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. "Moses did not write the 613 laws that are found in Exodus, Leviticus, Deuteronomy, and numbers?

I am talking about what Moses tells us in Deu 30:15 "See, I have set before you today life and prosperity, as well as death and disaster. " We have many choices: life or death, sickness or health, poverty or prosperity, blessing or curse. The people that do brain surgery tells us that a highly evolved area of our brain can make choices and perform abstract thinking. This is what sets us apart from the animals that really do not make choices the way we do. This is what makes us human. This began in Genesis chapter 3 with the tree of the knowledge of good & evil and the serpent. We read that Eve had a choice and the serpent beguiled her into making the wrong choice. Some people talk about Queen Esther and how she had all the same choices that Eve had only Esther made the right choices. So when you stated we can choose poverty or prosperity, you were referring spiritual standing before God and not the materialistic definitions found in the dictionary?

They were pressed by God to Choose, it wasn't a free will choosing on their part.
Yes Israel is a shadow and a type of the work that God is now doing in the church. Only they lived under the law and we live under grace. We have better promises then them. Are you assuming, because God made the people of Israel to choose, between Blessing or Cursing, that we have automatically been given the same choices to make by God?
I am not so sure this is right. It seems scripture says that If, Israel keeps the Sinai covenant, then God will keep for them the Abrahamic covenant. The old covenant was an agreement between 2 parties: the nation of Israel and God. The nation of Israel had their part of the covenant to uphold and God had His part of the old covenant to uphold. (This was unlike the Abrahamic covenant where only God promised to uphold His side of the agreement).
Israel could not keep its covenant. Therefore God had no part to keep in that covenant. However, God found fault with the old covenant on the side of the people. The fault being that Israel could not keep their side of the agreement (Hebrews 8:7-8).
Well, they are still keeping the Abrahamic covenant in circumcision of their Children. Thus revealing the intention of the old covenant agreement between God and the nation of Israel was only until the time of Christ (Galatians 3:23, Hebrews 9:10) and that it was only a shadow of Christ (colossians 2:16-17, Hebrews 10:1) meant to expose sin and lead us to Him (romans 7:7, Galatians 3:24). It would be at the time of Christ, that the old covenant agreement between God and the nation of Israel would be taken away and made obsolete (Hebrews 8:13, Hebrews 10:9). This old covenant agreement was superseded by the new covenant through Jesus Christ and founded on better promises than the old covenant (Hebrews 8:6).
Now, since the old covenant agreement between the nation of Israel and God was made obsolete and superseded by the new covenant, which has better promises, are the conditional promises on God's side of the old covenant agreement still in effect?

De 7:12 Wherefore it shall come to pass, if ye hearken to these judgments, and keep, and do them, that the LORD thy God shall keep unto thee the covenant and the mercy which he sware unto thy fathers:
So both Covenants are distinct here. But the part for the fathers in Abrahamic covenant is keeping the circumcision of their household.
The Mosaic covenant does not have any part for God does it?
Israel could not keep its covenant. Therefore God had no part to keep in that covenant.
Well, they are still keeping the Abrahamic covenant in circumcision of their Children.
Believe what you want. There has been a lot of discussion over this if we really do have choice or not. If the Bible says: "Now choose life"
So are you saying we have no choice? Jesus is a bully and He forces us to accept His will if we want to or not? That does not sound like the Jesus I know. Nor does this sound like something Jesus would teach. It is impossible for us to choose life unless the son sets us free.
Jesus told the thief on the cross that he would be in paradise with Jesus. We read in the Bible about Abrahams Bosom. "22 One day the beggar died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side. And the rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham from afar, with Lazarus by his side."Luke 16:23Thus I would argue it was impossible for the nation of Israel to choose life under the old covenant.
He is saying that the law does not save us, Jesus saves us. The law is still a teacher to show us the way of righteousness. Paul is not suggesting lawlessness at all.Paul states that the Abrahamic promises (PLURAL) were made to Abraham and his offspring. The offspring being Christ.
Israel is looking for the Lion of Judah, they do not understand the Lamb of God. Rev 5:5 "5 Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed to open the scroll and its seven seals.”Israel was unable to choose life
Deut 30:19 "This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live."
Believe what you want. There has been a lot of discussion over this if we really do have choice or not. If the Bible says: "Now choose life" and we do not really have a choice then we are no longer responsible. We are just like the animals. We are not made in the image of God. It would be wrong to put people in prison because they did not have a choice. They had to commit their crime.
Science says we have choice, the legal system says we have the freedom to choose right from wrong. The Bible tells us to choose. Yet you do not think we have choice. Even though the neurologists can tell us the exact part of the brain where choice takes place.
