I certainly agree with that. Anything that interferes with that which is actually important needs to be reevaluated.Jesus did teach us to be like little children, so having childlike interests is not bad. I suppose it might help to consider what you want out of life, and if the time devoted to being childlike precludes that from happening. If that is the case, time management might be required to find the right balance.
Very interesting, thank you for sharing your experience!i used to really enjoy listening to 70s era rock; often the lyrics would bother me though, and so i gave it up and shifted to gospel (which can also have terrible lyrics btw). a few years ago i was going through a tough trial (for me anyway) and suddenly became interested in my old favorite rock bands again as a way to calm my mind and break the worry cycle; as i listen now, i make up Godly lyrics and sing them instead of the ungodly original lyrics. i think God led me to give up rock, and then gave it back to me when i was better able to deal with the ungodly aspects of it...

I think that to say it is affiliated with the LGBT community is not am accurate statement since last I checked less than 4% of bronies were gay, but some of my freinds that are bronies have indeed complained that it seems the LGBT have been slowly moving into the fandom.If it is affiliated with the LBGT community any cohesive connections should be avoidance rather than acceptance. Technically MLP, jem, strawberry shortcake were a true to heart girls shows back in the day, where as gi joe, transformers, thundercats were presented primarily as so called boys shows. Our approach to Christianity is one of representation and presentation via examples of purity and avoiding those principles NOT of JESUS CHRIST.

I've been wondering this question for a long time now and would love to hear what everyone else has to say on the topic. A little under a year ago, I was exposed to this show and fandom and soon became a huge fan myself. I met several very good friends through a brony meet-up club at my college, of which some even claim to be Christians. While I was very comfortable and open about my hobby at first, I soon began to see how hated the community was, and how "weird" it was perceived (which is understandable and doesn't bother me so long as God approves). Considering that I have always had serious struggles with being overly legalistic, this really made me question if this in any way was morally wrong/sinful. After a few months, I eventually became so torn on the subject that I decided to abandon MLP altogether. This was VERY difficult for me since I genuinely loved the show and the incredibly strong friendships I had made in the fandom, but I didn't want to be unknowingly rebelling against God somehow, so I was more than willing to make this sacrifice. Since I just moved back onto campus, I recently met up with some of those old friends, most of whom i had not seen in the over 3 months since I left the fandom. Seeing them again, and once again talking about what was going on in the show and fandom really has made me think about this question that I've been praying on for months now. I want to honor God first and foremost, but I fail to see why enjoying an innocent show would be sinful just because of its intended demographic. I personally don't think I would ever go back to embracing the brony label as if that is my identity, but I wonder if just enjoying the show is wrong for a young adult male. THANK YOU FOR ANY INPUT YOU HAVE TO OFFER (but please be respectful)!
PS: I now that being obsessed and idolizing anything is sinful. This question assumes that the individual is in no way idolizing MLP or making the brony label their identity before a follower of Christ.
I'm not trying to argue here, but this is a sincere question. Do you believe that it is wrong for a Christian man to enjoy things like dancing, sewing, cooking, or other things that are for women in our society?

Thank you for your perspective and response!Being a fan myself, there's nothing wrong with it. Things that are okay for kids to watch can have good plot and characters, which is an important part to any story. It doesn't mean things are "babyish". I really feel annoyed when people have that view, because they generally think "If it doesn't have sweating/adult themes it's too childish for adults" or "animation/comics/whatever is only for kids". Animation is a medium, not a genre, and there's such a thing is being okay for EVERYONE to watch.

We are right with God because of Jesus' death. If you believe in Jesus (and you clearly seem to be trying to live to please him), everything you do that might be a sin is already forgiven (i.e., you are saved). Jesus didn't die so we could put God's Old Testament Law behind us and come under the commands in the New Testament. We are freed from having to keep any commands or rules to be right with God.

College is a time when some people's faith is tested severely. Try to hang out with friends who are also trying to live pleasingly to Jesus, and the above will be easier, and remember God loves you and accepts you even if you sin.
