When 10% of a person's posts are them calling "fallacy", I think it's obvious where the issue is.
It was close to 11%.From where do you get that percentage?
If I call a fallacy and show how it is a fallacy, you should be thanking me for showing how fallacious reasoning breaks down reasonable conversation.
Oz
It was close to 11%.
And I don't generally thank those who try to avoid dealing with the faults in their theologies by lording over others how smart they are. I have 80000+posts and have been here for 10 years, and you are the only one who points out alleged fallacies, and only when backed into a corner. You'd think that, if multiple people are pointing it out, that there might be some truth to the matter, and you might want to thank us for pointing it out.
Argument from FallacyTaylor,
argumentum ad logicam
(also known as: disproof by fallacy, argument to logic, fallacy fallacy, fallacist's fallacy, bad reasons fallacy [form of])
Description: Concluding that the truth value of an argument is false based on the fact that the argument contains a fallacy.
Logical Form:
Argument X is fallacious.
Therefore, the conclusion or truth claim of argument X is false.
Example #1:
Ivan: You cannot borrow my car because it turns back into a pumpkin at midnight.
Sidney: If you really think that, you’re an idiot.
Ivan: That is an ad hominem; therefore, I can’t be an idiot.
Sidney: I beg to differ.
Of me you state, 'it is rather apparent (at least to me) that you aren't very interested in meaningful discussion'.
You have been here since Jan 2014 and have made 983 posts. I've been here for 12 years and have made 10,500 posts. I've engaged in meaningful conversation many times over.
You don't seem to be able to tolerate it when your logical fallacy is exposed. Why can't you own up to it?
Oz
Your accusation that I'm lording it over people with 'how smart they are [I am]' is nothing more than an ad hominem fallacy.
Yes, you debate up until you get backed into a corner. Then the fallacy accusation comes out. Look no further than our last go round. All I did was ask questions, and when you couldn't answer, the fallacy card was played. So you have no stats for the 10% applied to me? Is that your guess?
It's time you learned the benefit of accepting what I've done in identifying logical fallacies and showing how the use of them by far too many Christians causes conversations to be diverted by fallacious reasoning.
So you state that I 'try to avoid dealing with the faults in their [my] theologies by lording over others how smart they are ... and you are the only one who points out alleged fallacies, and only when backed into a corner'.
You know that's baloney! I have debated my theology over and over with you and others in the many years I've been on this forum. Your accusation that I'm lording it over people with 'how smart they are [I am]' is nothing more than an ad hominem fallacy. You should be ashamed of yourself for making such a judgmental and false accusation.

Argument from silence is a logical fallacy. It is fallacious reasoning.
#108 is an example of your argument from silence.
That's fallacious reasoning, argument from silence (even though asked in the form of your question to me).
I provided you with a link to the type of fallacy used.
not only used the figure of speech of hyperbole but you have committed the fallacy of 'Appeal to Popularity'.
Another red herring, Hammster.
False again.
Red herring fallacy.
Argument from Fallacy
argumentum ad logicam
If I call a fallacy and show how it is a fallacy
what I've done in identifying logical fallacies
shut me up about logical fallacies
That's a straw man. It's a false view of what I did.
Okay, 280 posts this year. 30 mentions of fallacies.Still no stats. It's just your guess and put down to try to shut me up about logical fallacies.
No, it's accurate. Let's see how long it takes you to declare a fallacy in the other thread. That's a straw man. It's a false view of what I did. It's nothing more than your put down because I'm not a Calvinist - and you know it.
Is derailing a thread a logical fallacy?
In this thread, you are at 87%.
Okay, 280 posts this year. 30 mentions of fallacies.
You do the math.
The vast majority of folks know how to have normal discussions.I don't mention fallacies unless they are committed. It's time you realised the serious damage that fallacious reasoning does to discussions. As a staff member and administrator on this forum, you of all people should be awake to errors of logic so that you encourage people not to engage in illogical reasoning.
But what do you do? You complain about someone (me) who mentions fallacies in 30 posts but DOES NOT mention fallacies in 250 posts.
Why are you not committed to stopping illogical statements on this forum?
Oz
Agreed.This is getting ridiculous...
