Yea, it's sad. I read the book that his ex-wife wrote. Interesting stuff.

You're right. I threw my own thread "off topic". I'll have to report it,lol.

Did you care at all for the Joy Division tunes?
Yea I love Joy Division. I have 'Unknown Pleasures', 'Closer' and the 'Substance' compilation. Closer is my favorite. Side B of that album is incredible, "Twenty Four Hours" and "Decades" are my favorites. Yours?

Don't have any of their albums. The only reason I became interested in them is because Arcade Fire and U2 did a cover of Love Will Tear Us Apart.
So, I started checking out more of there stuff. I like everything I've watched/listened to. What draws me to them is largely Curtis' persona.
I like this performance a lot:

Are you an Arcade Fire fan?

I'm not a "fan", but I do have 'Neon Bible' and enjoy it quite a bit. You should check out my RateYourMusic profile (in my signature)...it's got my personal collection and everything rated. And if you like the site, you should join! It's pretty cool.

Speaking of RateYourMusic...

Bob Dylan has 4 albums in the top 100, which is pretty impressive. ( https://rateyourmusic.com/customchart ). I Personally don't think more than 2 of his albums should be in the top 100. Even though I love him.

I love Bob Dylan. When I was a kid the Skirball Center in Los Angeles had this really cool exhibit on Robert Zimmerman, aka Bob Dylan, and you could listen to his unreleased recordings. I went to school down the street from the center, and would pop in there all the time. I immediately loved his music. I credit my love for that Dylan for helping me to fall in love with my boyfriend Dylan, haha. He's named after Bob Dylan because his parents are such ardent fans.

Boots of Spanish Leather is probably my favorite. It's simple but lovely.

Do you think he's overrated? I mean, not bad, but people exxagarate his iconicness and importance to music history? On Youtube once I saw somebody say that Bob Dylan has more impact on music history than Michael Jackson, who had more impact on "show buisness", and on another video they said he's more iconic.

Slow train. Fantastic album.

I'm not a religious person, but it's one of my favorites, too. This is the best track on the album. Great melody and lyrics, and the guitar work by Mark Knopfler is just right. When I first got an iPod years ago, this was one of the very first songs I put on it.
