Another LOTR? (51)

speaking of which. I've worked out(kinda) my RPG idea.

Twin Jedi Kights are at the Jedi Training facility(I don't know where that is yet). One twin decides to "join the dark side" to try and reveal the Sith's plans to the Jedi. It works for a while, but then the Jedi goes missing.

sounds good to me

jedi academies where mainly at Osuss, Coruscant, Dantooine, Chundor (a flying academy)

after the Empire was destroyed Luke started an academy on Yavin 4. I thought about that, but I want to stay away from the idea of the Empire.

I did have an RPG on another site that took place at the very beginning on the Jedi, but that rules out the idea of the Sith having much of any power at all. And after the Empire...drat I lost my train of thought. Oh yeah, there you run into Luke and I don't want to get into that either. I suppose this could be long after Luke's death.

Jedi Academy on Eonaa
This land is vertually untouched. Eonaa is a pleasent land,
for as much land as it is. Eonaa is a planet of mostly water
with many islands. Some no more than large sandbars, some a
100-200 sq. ml. Each island is small. Resources are few on
each island, but with hundreds of islands to choose from
travel between them is frequent and required. The climate on
Eonaa is hot and dry 90% of the time. All other times it's
warm and rainy.
There aren't many strictly land animals, but there is
abuntant water life and underwater resources.
After the establishment of the Jedi Academy:
On one large island are housing built into a mountain. Some
of the housing is actually under sea level.
The training facilities are on another large island, the
largest island. This island consists of a small mountain
chain that runs in a simi-circle with a plain in middle.
Training buildings are cut into the mountains and the
mountain sides around the plain are carved in certain areas
like arena seating.
Entertainment buildings are on numorous smaller islands.
Travel on between the islands is done either my water speeder
or 2 man jet.

How's that sound?

OR maybe even a completely new thread not having to do with R and T at all, but that involves the same sort of sweet romance. We should start scheming. And someday I want to write something where I can use Merlin from Richardson. She was introduced right before the thread died, but I really liked her.

Yeah...we could...How about so we just don't end up leaving Forest hanging, we can finish up the last bit of the RPG, like the wedding, and give it a good ending. That one holds too much heart for me to just walk away Almost like Richardson.

Did you ever get your book published?

I never got my book finished I have several half written manuscripts stuck away in my computer. I've lost several times to procrastination...

I wrote a book chapter for a competition an entire year ago, so now I have the entire church (practically) on my back STILL to finish it... but I only have the first chapter and had no idea where I was going with it anyways. So finish yours before I come over and steal it!

If you want. I'd be just as happy meeting his parents, but I'm happy either way. We just have to make sure this second one isn't like a bad Disney sequel.

Thanks. I'd have to conquer alot of innate character flaws to write and publish a book though. I have ideas and can often start... but never seem to get past the first page or so.

Yeah, no kidding...It might be easier just to start a new one entirely. And it would be fun to come up with a new plot and different characters.

That's my problem. I can never keep it going. I have to get people to force me to sit in a room with my computer and not let me out until I write a certain number of words X_x It's a pain.

Well, I'm up until 3 or 4 in the morning myself...but I haven't exactly joined an RPG with a character yet

Did you ever try writiing non-linear? That you have to write sstart to finish is a rather limited idea. You can stop a locomotive if you know exactly where to put your finger, so there must be the same kind of critical point, in abstract terms, at which a story can be expected to grow into being, of its own accord. Dunno. It's a theory.

I think for my problem it's just the act of coming to a scene that's kind of slow, and not really wanting to write it, so I end up stopping...I've heard different opinions where someone thinks you shouldn't skip around in scenes because if you continue to skip the scenes you dislike and only go with the "candy bar scenes", so to speak, you never go back to it.

Hm.

I think there's a catch. The number of boos in existence is testimony to the fact that it can be done. I don't have any brilliant methods in mind, but intuition suggests there is a way. And I mean a way to do it effortlessly. One need only find that crucial point.
