  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Evanescence, Nightwish, And Rammstein are my favorite bands.(one is heavy metal/rock, the next is power metal with operatic vocals(well, for the lead singer anyway) and the last but certainly not least is a german heavy metal/industrial band.

Rock is fine, it wakes me up. Rap...no way. I can't understand what they're saying. Skillet is great!

Dave, I have never heard of any of those bands....

Do you like Relient K, JF? That's the only thing all the guys at youth group like and it drives me crazy when the blast it.

Well, I forgot to mention that Evanescence is the only band out of those three that is American. Nightwish is Finnish, but they sing in English, and Tarja(lead singer) sings like an angel too. Rammstein is German, and so are their lyrics. Their lead, Till Lindemann, has a pretty deep voice, and is one of the best guy singers I have heard.

The main bands I like are : Point of Grace, FFH, Switchfoot, Mercyme, Reliant K, Casting Crowns, and Rebbeca St James. Those are my favorites, with FFH being my most favorite.

A Finnish band? Wow.

I like all of those. I also like Newsboys, Tree63, Pillar, Nichole Nordeman, Micheal W. Smith, Micheal Card, Rock and Roll Worship Circus(won't be surprised if you've never heard of 'em, but they're awesome), Bethany Dillon, and a bunch of others. I'm a huge fan of music.

Most of the bands you guys mentioned, I find hard to listen too. Just not stimulating enough for me. I dont like the screaming or incredibly hard stuff, but the groups I mentioned hit that perfect spot. I also like some classic rock and classical music now and then.

Relient K and Skillet aren't stimulating???! Wow. That's about the loudest my mind can handle...
Oh yeah, I like Sonic Flood too. I'm mad because no bands ever hold their concerts in Colorado. The altitiude is too high and they almost faint on the stage. *sighs*
