Calvary Chapel, I think. I could be wrong but I can't think of one female CC pastor.

Biblical Examples of Women in Ministry

Old Testament history includes accounts of strong female leadership. Miriam was a prophet, one of the triumvirate of leaders God sent to Israel during the Exodus period (Exodus 15:20). Deborah, as prophet and judge, led the army of the Lord into successful combat (Judges 4 to 5). Huldah, also a prophet, authenticated the scroll of the Law found in the temple and helped spark the great religious reform in the days of Josiah (2 Kings 22; 2 Chronicles 34).

The New Testament also records ministering women in the Church Age. Tabitha (Dorcas) is called a disciple and had a ministry of helps (Acts 9:36). Philip had four virgin daughters who prophesied (Act s 21:8,9). Euodia and Syntyche were Paul's coworkers who shared in his struggle to spread the gospel (Philippians 4:2,3). Priscilla was another of Paul's exemplary "fellow workers in Christ Jesus" (Romans 16:3,4, NIV). In Romans 16, Paul greets a multitude of ministering persons, a large number of them women.

Phoebe, a leader in the church at Cenchrea, was highly commended to the church at Rome by Paul (Romans 16:1,2). Unfortunately, biases of modern English translators have sometimes obscured Phoebe's position of leadership, calling her a "servant" or "helper", etc. Yet Phoebe was diakonos of the church at Cenchrea. Paul often used this term for a minister or leader of a congregation and applied it specifically to Jesus Christ, Tychicus, Epaphras, Timothy, and to his own ministry. Depending on the context, diakonos is usually translated "deacon" or "minister." Though some translators have chose n the word deaconess (because Phoebe was a woman), such a distinction is not in the original Greek. It seems likely that diakonos was the designation for an official leadership position in the Early Church.

Junia was identified by Paul as an apostle (Romans 16:7). But many translators and scholars, unwilling to admit there could have been a female apostle, have since the 13th century masculinized her name to Junias. The biblical record shows that Paul was a strong advocate of women's ministry.

The instances of women filling leadership roles in the Bible should be taken as a divinely approved pattern, not as exceptions to divine decrees. Even a limited 34-4191 of women with scripturally commended leadership roles should affirm that God does indeed call women to ministry.

Man, I am having trouble with the definitions on this board! What are you calling charismatic denominations? My definition of a charismatic church is a church that believes in the gifts of the Spirit, but is not a pentacostal church. So by my definition, there are no charismatic denominations.

If you are talking about what I call pentacostal denomination (Assemblies of God, Church of God (Cleveland, TN), Church of God of Prophecy) or even including the apostallic churches (United Pentacostal, Holiness Church,etc.), I know that the Assemblies of God does not allow women as pastors. They can preach, teach, prophecy, but not pastor. I don't know about the other pentecostal denominations.

The passages that you quote, and the complete passage on the AofG web site (http://ag.org/top/beliefs/position_papers/4191_women_ministry.cfm), does not specifically address the position of the church on "women as pastor". But I will have to admit, it sure looks that way now.

I was a member of an AofG church 5 years ago, and left only because I moved. If I remember correctly, they did not allow women as pastors.

My church doesn't have any female pastors neither. Now that I think about it, I have never been to an AG church with a female pastor. I would probably feel weird, however, I like you, just found out through the website what the church's official position is on the subject. As a matter of fact, I was researching the subject to reply to your thrread. Interesting.

While there are similarities , Pentecostal and charasmatic are not interchangeable.
Technically speaking charasmatic comes from the Greek word for "gifts" meaning the gifts of the Holy Spirit listed in Corinthians. Historically, charasmatic has meant a person who embraces the gifts of the Holy Spirit for today. (tongues gets the most attention) However this person can be from any denomination. Methodist, Baptist, Episcopal,Catholic, etc. Some non-denominational churches which are charasmatic in practice have formed the past few decades in response to Charasmatics being kicked out of their denominations for their charasmatic beliefs or leaving voluntarially. There have been many prominant charasmatic ministers who have emphasized the abundant life possible for the believer. Hence the emphasis on faith, prosperity, and healing.
Pentecostals have a doctrinal belief that every believer can and should experience a second work of grace in addition to Justification (SALVATION). This second work of grace is termed "the Baptism with the Holy Spirit" meaning that each individual believer can experience what was experienced in Acts chapter two on the day of pentecost. Pentecostals teach that speaking in tongues is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit. The other gifts of The Holy Spirit are believed to follow. Many pentecostal denominations have been historically big on holiness teaching (sanctification) and evangelism.
Perhaps there are some others with knowledge on the history of pentecostals and charasmatics who can give a more compelte answer. I hope this helps some.

There is not 100% agreement on this issue amongst charasmatic or pentecostal churches. Many charasmatic churches do allow women in leadership but not all.
Assembly of God allows women to be senior pastors and according to official policy women can hold any leadership position that men do. However in practice there are very few female pastors who are senior pastors.

I know that the Evangelical Lutheran church allows women to serve as associate pastors, But, Any others, I don't know.

I don't know what Charasmatic churches or Penticostal churches don't allow woman Pastors. Everyone that I've been part of did. And as far as Charasmatic and Penticostal being interchangable. . .I tend to interchange them but there are many branches of the Penticostals that I personally would not want to be interchanged with even if I was soley Penticostal . I don't know what I am. . .I just say I'm a Christian who operates in the gifts.

part of the problem is the culture of the day and the society in which Paul wrote his epistles :
1. women had no say in the church
2. did not own property
3. were considered second class citizens
4. still some what true , in that part of the ( arab ) world today

When paul wrote of the qualifications for ministers he spoke of men , husbands of one wife , ethical , moral , etc.

Yet if you read the opening and closing of the book of Romans , Paul edifys a number of husband and wife " teams ".

In our culture I do not feel that sex is as much as an issue as leadership and the denomination within you worship . I believe Joyce Meyers , Bam Carter , Cathy Duplantis , Marilyn Hickey, are all called and gifted women of God ; necessary to minister to women first ( for many women will not listen to a man , when it comes to women's issues [ and vise versa with men ].

If they are called of God , sent by God , and walking with God , who am I to question
what God does [ Acts 5 Gamaliel's report ; Acts 10 - Peter : God is no respector of persons ]
