Yay! Margie and Luke in first place again! I like the alliance they have with Cara and Jamie. They work well together.

I'm glad that was a non-elimination round. I do like Christie and Jodi. I felt embarrassed for (Christie? Jodie?) for having to run through the streets in a thong.

Oh, and seeing Phil Keoghan in his skivvies was quite possible the best few seconds in the show's history.

last nights show was the best! I am glad it was non elimination too. BUT my girls have alot of making up to do with the speed bump and all. I hope someone else fails epically..and they stay in the race.

you never know....if i'm correct i think that all the teams have had a hard time with some of the tasks so far.
seems like it's not whether you fail but how you recover that makes the difference.

Very true. Some of the speed bumps can be done quickly. And it also depends on when they are - in almost every leg of the race there is a 'catchpa', some kind of event that gets all the teams together at once - eliminates the leads. Usually waiting for some place to open, etc. If the speed bump is placed before one of these catchpas it could be very advantageous for them.

I'd also like to say that while it was fascinating to see Russia/Siberia, most of the locals did not leave a favorable impression on my view of their nationality....

That's a good question. I thought it was hilarious that the one girl had to put on underwear because she doesn't usually wear any.

I think the stewardesses have gotten too many lucky breaks. They are the only ones left I wouldn't mind seeing leave now. Although my estimation of Victor went way down when he kept leaving people behind he had said he would work with.

I'm a bit bummed that Christie and Jodi were eliminated. I didn't care for them at first, but they grew on me.

On the flip side, I liked Mark and Michael at first, but then they started to rub me the wrong way. I honestly was hoping they would have been the ones to go home.

I spent some time watching Phil's video blog and the Elimination Station videos on the Amazing Race site. It was interesting to see the reactions to Mel and Mike showing up at the "loser's" house in Thailand, they seemed to be the favorites among those left in the competition. And I'm interested to see what happens with the show tomorrow based on the synopsis of the episode that I've seen -- sounds like anyone could be eliminated tomorrow.

I thought there was a rule that they couldn't do anything that would break a law (like not paying for a cab) and I thought somewhere along the line they implemented a "no begging" rule, though I could be wrong about that one. So I wasn't sure what, exactly, they wanted M&M to do in their situation. If they couldn't not pay the guy, and they couldn't beg for money, and they couldn't use their personal possessions, then what options did they have?

I thought that was a much too severe penalty for what they did, too.

I don't believe there was ever a no begging rule -- otherwise Dallas and his mother would have been guilty of it in the previous Amazing Race. Not to mention the other types of "begging", like begging people for directions -- particularly when they ask (beg) for the person to escort them there. And, in essence, the smart option would have been to do something like the girls ended up doing, take a taxi back to where their bags were.

As for the penalty, I wonder if the severity isn't for having a rule violation two weeks in a row.
