I might have misinterpreted shyguyelite, but I think he's saying that those in relationships are seen as being more influential than those who aren't. In my group of friends at the theatre, for example, the guys who are in relationships seem to be more trusted when it comes to giving advice purely because they're in relationships. It's as though people think, "well they can get it right because they have someone." Not my opinion, just an observation.

excatly. Be thankful that God kept you from having to go through dating random people who aren't meant for you.

God is waiting to give you the perfect girl for you. You just have to be patient. I'm 24 and still waiting. I know its hard and lonely at times. But God wants you to strengthen your relationship with Him first, before he gives you that special girl.

I actually think that it is a huge blessing! Just think about your future wife and how you will be able to think of only her. When someone has dated around it is easy to remember or think of the past even in an unwilling heart. Enjoy the time of being responsible for you only and spend that time building your relationship with God.

Your not odd.

I agree with others that god will help you with the right girl. I mean i have been dating girls all my life and eventually my heart got broken big time and i took a break. I remember praying in my depressed mode, talking to god about my perfect girl and how i wish it would be that easy. A few months later bam i found out a girl ive known slightly for 4 years, likes me and here we are almost a year later happier then ever and i thank god for her. Yes it hasnt all been picnics and flowers because her parents think badly of me (theyve never talked to me for more then 3 min). But if you truly want something you have to work for it.

Now since im starting to ramble ill get to my point. I agree that god will help you but i also feel that you have to put things into your own hands and try finding that special person. I mean if i would have never pursued my girlfriend then i would still be that guy lost in the dark.

I aint had a boyfriend or even been interested... Just happily single. I don't think there's anything wrong about it, different from what people expect maybe but it seems like it's everyone else that has a problem with it.

Man! I'm 27, my brother and all my cousins are married with kids! I've no idea what my relatives think of my 'single' status. I really don't have the time to care.

I don't think being single is odd at all, esp considering the pool we have to pick from.

Here's another twenty year old who's never dated... I've never wanted to, not that I don't want to get married someday, but it's just not worth it to me untill I really think there's a possibility I could marry the person.

My sister and I have a theory that one way to make sure that you do the dating thing right is to not date at all until God hits you over the head with a spiritual hammer and says pay attention to this one...

So long as you listen to him, he's not going to let you miss the boat.

You aren't odd at all. Up until last year I hadn't dated at all either, and that particular one ended in a less than perfect way. I too get the "why are you single" comments from people, but like a previous poster said, we have a pretty small pool to choose from.
