Macaw Madness

We are blessed because Dr. Fudge comes to us in our home and sees and treats Schreech in his own environment. He has an equipped van so anything that may be needed is available. We also have the option to go to his office.

Wallaby Mom Exotic Animal Veterinarian

I have been working with exotic animals since I was 15 years old. It was only natural that I went into the practice of being a vet for exotic animals.
I have many stories but I will tell you about a little squirrel monkey named Jocko.
The owners of Jocko did not know the proper care of a simian. They kept the poor little guy in a small bird cage and fed him a diet of bananas and cookies.
Like a human child, monkeys need a good healthy diet of protein and fruit and vegetables and need lots of room for play and exercise. Monkeys also need sunshine.
After a couple of years of a poor diet, Jocko lost his hair and got cage paralysis (lost the use of his legs).
The owners were going to move and “did not have time for Jocko”. The owners gave Jocko to Sam, my 14 year old son.
We immediately put Jocko on a high protein diet, added fruits and veggies gave him fish oil on multigrain bread. Jocko was given daily leg massages and taken out daily for plenty of sunshine and fresh air. Jocko will never live in a small cage again.
The update is that Jocko has regained the use of his legs again and his hair has grown back. He is a new monkey full of life and fun.
Jocko now shares the “monkey house” with Jonah, Edward, Barry, Mustard Deason Binks and Sonny other monkeys that we have rescued.

The picture is of myself, Jocko and our Bengal tiger, Beau.

My story.

I absolutely adore animals. Why only focus on just dogs and cats!? I want to treat some animals that most people have never even seen before! Treating a llama is a very unique experience. Treating a kitty and a puppy can brighten up my day! My mission: to help as many of God's gorgeous creatures.
