  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yep, I love that musical!

It was the first Broadway musical I ever liked and it was also the first musical I got to see on Broadway which was really cool. I saw it just about a month before it closed. Adam Pascal had come back so it was awesome to see him. The musical was great overall though, it's sad it closed.

It that the opera where the jelous woman makes a mistake that gets many people killed?

My friend, that describes the plotline of many an italian opera. Honestly. You could be talking about Tosca, Cavalleria Rusticana, La Gioconda, Adriana Lecouvreur, Norma, Aida, etc.

Aida, though, has a jealous woman, Amneris the Egyptian princess. She has the power to save Radames, but when he tells her he won't give up the woman he loves (Aida), she refuses to help him. He goes to his death for treason and Aida chooses to share his death rather than live a life without him.

Unfortunately, I did not get to see it, but I would absolutely love to. I own the soundtrack and I have read the score and the libretto to both the musical and the opera, but I've never seen it performed.

I love "Strongest Suit," which is the one sung by Amneris about her wardrobe, but I think my favorite song from the musical is "Dance of the Robes."
