I taught the lesson as a teacher for the first time on Saturday and though I was nervous, misspoke, didnt hear some of the brethrens questions, and never got through the whole lesson before time ran out, I felt a calmness come over me after I said a prayer to begin.

I was asked a question on whether being given wisdom and understanding from God we should worry about those that want to harm or attack us. They used the following verse to say we should hide from those who would harm us:

19On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 20After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.John 20:18-20

I disagreed and said that as you could see the diciples were hiding because of 'fear of the Jews' as the Pharisees hated Jesus and had done everything to rile the people against his followers. Yet these same disciples later went on to become the backbone of the church, speaking fearlessly in the name of the Lord and facing death without fear. What made the difference....? So why do Adventist today seem to have such fear of other Adventist who have fallen away or no longer believe, or else spreading fear with baseless hearsay rumors of what is being taught or said in our institutions, instead of fearlessly presenting the testimonies of Jesus Christ and his commandments and putting the rest in Gods sure hands.
  1. Acts 9:27
But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus.
Acts 9:26-28 (in Context) Acts 9 (Whole Chapter)
  2. Ephesians 6:19
Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel,
Ephesians 6:18-20 (in Context) Ephesians 6 (Whole Chapter)
  3. Ephesians 6:20
for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Ephesians 6:19-21 (in Context) Ephesians 6 (Whole Chapter)
  4. Philippians 1:14
Because of my chains, most of the brothers in the Lord have been encouraged to speak the word of God more courageously and fearlessly.
Philippians 1:13-15 (in Context) Philippians 1 (Whole Chapter)

I thought the fear was of all other Christians who do not keep the Sabbath, not just those who left the SDA denomination? Don't you believe that all of Christianity ('Sunday keepers') will rise up against Sabbath keepers to kill them at the end? What about the RCC? There's huge fear of them too!

When you learn to rest in the Lord (one of the lessons of the Sabbath) then His love for you and your love for Him will banish away all fear of man.

My Rest in the Lord is my security in His Love for me that banishes any FEAR.

I have received the check and taken it to the bank and the payment had been deposited and it cleared the way for me,and anyone else who believes, for eternity.

"We have nothing to fear but fear itself"...A World War II leader
"Fear not, for I am with you"...Jesus.

"...I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I AM there you may be also" ...Jesus.

Look Up, Jesus is coming soon! Vow today to have the testimony of Jesus on your lips, in your prayers, in your dreams, in your conversations...and abide in His commandments...thus you are marked as belonging in His kingdom, rather than in that of the beast. Amen.

Has anyone ever noticed that it is those who are wrong in doctrine and of a evil heart that attack those who walk with the Lord? Jesus told us quite plainly that as He was persecuted for 'righteousness and truths sake'--so shall we.(Joh 15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.)

We know that the time is coming when we will need to take a stand for the truths that we bare. Just as Jesus did.

The Bible talks about people's hearts failing them "for fear." I think a lot of us have our little dark corner. Hopefully, we can tell others who are in some dark corner what Jesus is to us; and how He has blessed us. We do "reap what we sow," and this would be the basis on which to respond to those "Hiding IN Fear."

Yes, but do we let them fall into the abyss of eternal death or reach one last time as Jesus did with Judas to let them know they still have a chance to turn from their evil ways and gain eternal life rather than a few pieces of silver or a few points of debate? It's hard to let anyone go unto spiritual death and destruction....
