Thanks Ewe, that does indeed make sense.

In my view, God might prefer that you work toward a more authentic Christian spirituality than imagining that anyone at all is your "personal savior." Neither the scriptures nor Christian tradition mention anything at all about a personal savior, much less "accepting" a personal savior; the concept seems to be less than two hundred years old.

I admit that the concept of 'accepting Jesus Christ as one's personal saviour' was completely alien to me, before I started posting on American-dominated internet forums. It seems that that belief plays a large part of American Christianity, whilst it's virtually unheard of in Britain. I'd just assumed that I'd been ignorant of the 'true' meaning of Christianity. But if that's not the case, what would you suggest as being a more authentic Christian spirituality?

I would have just chosen the wrong person as my savoir (Krishna lived a fairly similar life to Christ, except that he lived in India about 2,000 years before). Do you believe that God would forgive me for choosing the wrong person? Would I be damned to hell for this mistake, or would I be allowed to go to heaven?

Jesus warned of false Christs who have come and will come.

Now, I want to be clear, I am not God and it is not my place to judge His actions. He can do and forgive who He wants. Anyone who says different forgets that God is in control of things.

However, Khrisna is not, and was not, Christ. He was not the son of God. Basically, you would have been greatly decieved.

Only one has died for our sins, became sin for us, died and ROSE again. There is no substitute for Jesus Christ.

I am not judging, but knowing the facts of the person of Jesus Christ and His role, He is far to important to be mistaken like that.
