I think they would be same except a little more exclusive... in saying that it's open for Baptist to debate, but other denom's would only be able to ask questions to be answered and fellowship, but not debate...

what do others think?

Is there a mod to clarify??

God Bless!!

3) Non-Protestant members (eg. Catholic members) can only post fellowship posts here or posts to ask a question regarding Protestant or Evangelical doctrine. Once the question is answered, there shall be no debate over the answer in this forum by the Non-Protestant. Any debate posts by Non-Protestants will be deleted or moved to the Interdenominational Doctrine Debate forum. In other words, only Protestant members can debate here.

Hmmm....there seem to be a lot of posts in my thread (questions for former catholics) that don't seem to fall into the category of fellowship post or asking a question. I was asking questions of the baptists here who used to be catholic, and I explained why I did not want to discuss the issues further with catholics, yet many replies (borderline debate) from catholics were posted. I am not trying to be rude, but I do feel that the forum rules are not being followed. I came to this section of the forum because I specifically wanted some feedback from people whose current beliefs are similar to mine.
(oh, and in the interest of fairness, I should point out that I think the comment in this same thread about catholics teaching a false gospel would be violating rule #5)

Hmm... what about us who just consider ourselves Christians?... I grew up Baptist (my father is Ordained as a Baptist Pastor), but I've also gone to Methodist... and I'm researching Lutheranism...

I guess if I HAD to pick a Denom. that fits me, it'd be Baptist. I guess I would do that if I had to to debate in this forum....

Though personally, I'm not sure why the ban on debates, so long as they are friendly and not derogatory.

some threads are debate threads.. no ban for anyone who is baptist/anabaptist or similar denom. other denom.'s should not debate here.. there are other forums for debates between different denomoniations.

some threads are to ask specific questions, the thread starter and those giving replies intend not to have their questions and answers debated.

If you find a "question" thread that you want to debate on... start another thread titled debated on [whatever subject is].

If you want to debate it with people of other denom's then it can be done in a forum that is designed for debate between denominations.

Anything (as far as I can tell, apart from outright rude, mean or untruthful posts) can be done.. just in the place they should be done.

God Bless,
C

speaking of rules... is there one about posting the SAME subject, exact SAME post, SAME time, by SAME person?

There is a post called "Take a stand for Marriage" posted by O.F.F. in EVERY "congragation" forum every single denom. has the same post by the same person.
Although I don't take offence to the post in general.. it seems like spam.

hmm

I also wanted to ask about the rule about saying the RCC is a cult.
There have been numerous remarks about other non-catholic religions being acused as being a cult. Such as a KJV only church.......which are mainly Baptist.
The rules should not only apply to the RCC but to all accepted Christian deniminations.

I would like to let members know, that if you think a specific rule should be applied, it would be great if you could post in this thread and I'll make sure Staff is aware of it and we can take it into consideration. We are currently discussing new rules for all of the congregational forums and will tweak them to make them more appropriate for each forum.

Feel free to share any ideas!

HI!!!!

Gang please remember that this is the Baptist - Anabaptist fora!

Greetings from AMISH Country

From your FAVORITE Messianic Mennonite!

I would ask you in love that maybe be careful in the wording here ok?
Just saying Baptist might leave the one and only buggy driver on the thread
out in the cold splitting wood for the fire. (Please don't worry if you don't understand that little quip Pennsylvania Mennonite humor is not really very funny)

I cant even change my icon till Erwin comes up with a Messianic Mennonite icon

But on the other hand I dont want to go back to being beat up by some of the
other protestant denoms here either. That was big time not fun!

Blessings

Pastor George

Yay! for Pastor George!!! Now I know that I am not a complete freak. I am a S.Baptist, who goes to a Church of Christ campus group and attends Catholic mass, though I was raised Methodist. Hmmm should make for an interesting icon also.

I wonder if we could get Erwin to make an icon of a blender with a cross on it?
