• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Give me your definition and we will see if they match!
Debating on common ground. As in, finding agreement with an opponent on the basis of things that you both agree on and discussing from there.

Simply pointing out that people need to be saved and that the Bible is true might be good for your spirit, but it doesn't mean anything to us. We don't believe in God or the Bible.

The whole counsel of God (Genesis thru to Revelation) has clearly given the Creator's instructions for those He has created in His image.
Avoiding the issue again? Perhaps I wasn't clear.

Please show me where in Romans Ch 1, or anywhere else in the bible, there is any teaching concerning:

  1. same sex marriage
  2. same sex marriage leading to a redefinition of marriage for heterosexuals
  3. effects of same sex marriage on children
  4. same sex marriage leading to polygamy/polyandry

Should that not be, ",,,,does,nt mean anything to me,"
And "I don,t believe in God or the bible"?

The only right that I have as God's servant is to explain His truth to others, what they do with that truth is up to them!

Absolutely correct. So why do you insist on acting like you have the further right to force them by law to live by your morals?

I'm sorry, for me to dis-include you there you'd have to accept the Bible & God.

Well, I will have to come back back to this, will have to let it sink in first,
not to be rude, just that some things take a while to fathom, even after 3 mugs of coffee.

Well I'm sure you and God will be very happy after judgement day. Remind us all why that gives you and that bigot O'Brien any right to force your religious morals on gays who just want to marry the person they love?

Of course they can marry the person they love. As long as they are both old enough, not insane, not closely related and are of opposing sexes to each other.

Separate but equal.

That takes me back to the deep south in the 50s.

Separate but equal.

Almost the entire NHS sits on the principle of separate but equal. That's why we have sex-segregated wards.

Besides, marriage is about bringing two different halves of the human race (male and female) together. Doesn't get more pro-equality than that

Yes, quite an interesting comparison there..

The attitude towards equality in the deep south in the 1950's was in some ways similar to the view held in the 1850's by the US federal government regarding the fact that blacks weren't actually persons.

Which is coincidentally the same view held in 2012 by most atheists & humanists hold regarding a human foetus....

Fortunately that Supreme court ruling in 1857 regarding blacks was over turned 11 years later...

Yes, but the difference is that I stopped feeling 'that way' 15 years ago and haven't looked back!!

The situation cannot be that bad then, one here, one there, hand plucked, ripe for plucking.
Windfallen fruit often gets bruised, not so good.
