  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So much for a plain reading. when you have to start developing feasible answers to apparent contradictions, you are no longer just accepting the plain, simple reading of the text.

Yes, that is a way of reconciling the two. But, in doing so, you forfeit any claim to simple, plain reading. Your interpretive process is fully involved to come up with a reading which is NOT the plain reading.

When I read them literally, I see no way of reconciling them without abandoning the literal reading. When I abandon the literal reading, they make sense because they are no longer to retain complete historical and chronological accuracy.


I am not talking about when mankind's creation was finished. I am talking about when mankind's creation was began. God creates the animals in Genesis 1: 24-25. God begins the creation mankind in Genesis 1: 26-27, after He created the animals.
