I have found that there is great discord here from far left and far right. It creates a very unpleasant atmosphere. Would be so wonderful if we could see each other through our Savior's eyes and love as He loves - unconditionally. That means no matter what our theology, our particular milestone in our Christian journey, or any other of the myriad number of things that we look at as defining of value.
As for myself, I am fairly newly back to our fold and have discovered that I am a mostly a conservatively liberal Christian with some hints of radical overtones who believes that it is okay for folks to wear jeans or earrings to church even though I don't and that it is great to baptize folk who haven't won the victory over tobacco yet so that they have the connection to God and the Body of Christ to strengthen them on their journey.

JM--I think there is a saying that says--'let peace begin with ME'.The point in it isn't to look around and condemn your brothers and sisters in the church. Rather, it is to reevaulate your own life, to make sure that you aren't one of those who don't have Christ in your life. I can't coun the number of times I have seen people from the 'traditional' camp tell Night or whoever that they were doing the works of satan.
Among the fruits of the spirit are Love, Mercy, and Kindness, and I have seen a lack of them on this forum. And not only (or even mostly) from progressives. This is our best way to judge our own closeness to God.

MY concern is what SOME folk make of it...
My bible does NOT read the same way I suppose, since in mine HE is the Prince that RESCUES HIS bride... See HE paid the price she could NOT pay for herself and HE STILL set her free....

The thing.... HIS TRUE bride CHOOSES HIM above ALL....
And IN HER HE is examplified...
So ALL who sees her not only sees HIM in her but they understand what she is worth to HIM and they TOO want to partake in the celebration for they realize that is NOT JUST for HER that HE came and paid and lived the example.....
But for ALL WHOSOEVER WOULD.....
